I was six when dad sent me to bed before extras in game 7 of the WS in Minnesota. Tough next morning for a first grader. We had a neighborhood pizza party for game 6 in 1995. No timetable yet for Sean Newcomb’s return from injury Sean Newcomb remains out after he was struck in the head by a line drive during Saturday’s game. Brian Snitker told the AJC’s Stan Awtrey on Tuesday that Newcomb wasn’t available to pitch Tuesday and isn’t likely to pitch Wednesday. However, it sounds like he could be back in the bullpen in time for this weekend’s series against Washington. Kevin Gausman going to Florida for injury rehab work Kevin Gausman is set to begin a rehab assignment in the minors. Gausman is currently on the injured list due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot. The AJC’s Stan Awtrey reports that the organization is still viewing Gausman as a starting pitcher and he will work as such throughout his rehab stint.

Who is the better long term catcher? Contreras or Langeliers? Kiley McDaniel: Both definitely catchers, Langeliers is a little more advanced but Contreras has the offensive upside/performance/age edge. I also think his frame will age a bit better, no hamate injury, just a lot of little edges that add up. I know you guys were not high on the Braves draft from what you wrote at the end of day two. Does their approach and signing from day three change anything? Kiley McDaniel: yep it obviously looks better in retrospect by going underslot on almost every pick and adding some solid HS guys past the 10th.
