I don't believe he had any idea what the footage showed... only that it caused the felony charge to be ditched. That could have meant a lot of things.

 

if i read the article on it correctly, the felony charge was from the cops claiming he choked her. the footage didn’t show that so it was dropped. the misdemeanors are as a result of him hitting her with his cast and shoving her which the footage does show apparently.

 

The article tells some of what the footage shows but obviously not all of it. The police story being contradicted(slightly?) by what the footage shows makes no sense.
