DH sounds cool if we get Realmuto or something. Not with the trash bench currently constructed.
fuck the DH. play baseball the right way, assholes
Ace would lose some value amirite Tobias?
How will this merger impact the stock holders?
I can see why some want the DH, but it will take away a lot of thinking and strategy out of baseball
Let's ask Clown Baby
I don't believe it. Hope I am wrong.
just remember who had it first thanks
Realmuto to the Phillies
I don't really agree with this. Donaldson is going to require consistent rest, Swanson has shown an inability to stay healthy, Ozzie has platoon split issues and the Braves want to rest FF and Markakis more this season. More than enough PT around for both Camargo and Culberson even with a DH.
In fact, adding a DH would provide a reason to go add another bat like Derek Dietrich and increase depth even more.
Quicker path for Riley, also.
Bowman vs Tobias cage match
Maybe this is Bowman’s way of letting us know Gohara has dropped weight
already had the "he's being dealt today" aspect of the scoop before bowman or mish imo. trust the process of my totally real sources
I’m a Liberty Media shareholder so this deal between Sun Trust and BB&T including naming rights doesn’t affect me. But, if it somehow generates more revenue for the team, which we (Liberty) use to issue a dividend, then fuck yes.
wow my sources were right on the date just not on the location. looks like that qualifies me as a partial insider with the option to graduate to full fledged
Kapler will still fuck it up
Hard to fuck that up. Damn it
Riley and why not throw allard in there
Marlins would of taken that imo
I'm so fucking mad.
Fuck you Liberty Media.
I gotta say, this bothers me as both a fan and shareholder.
this one really isnt on them. not saying i am mad at AA either bc the price may have been too high for him/he's targeting other trade pieces with the guys miami asked for. when we continue to not aggressively pursue big money guys like manny and bryce then yeah that's on them
it is super frustrating tho for sure. the rest of our division is gearing up and we've downgraded at catcher, slightly downgraded in starting pitching (depends on the steps soroka/young guys take vs losing anibal) and greatly improved at 3rd (which wasnt a massive weakness or anything) while everything else is essentially the same. still think AA has something up his sleeve
Unless Liberty Media has told him he's spent what he's allowed. And adding more to the payroll at this point is unacceptable. Either way, LM and AA have royally screwed the pooch on an opportunity to build a beast.
This literally says that they didn’t.
i that you could put Allard in the 'not much else category'
to us? of course. But still is a top 125 prospect in baseball according to the "Keith Law's" for some reason
This is all going to be moot anyway when Contreras wins the job in spring training
He might have the best bat, but I'll be damned if he starts over the unspoken rule master, hometown hero, and discount contract taker.
I think this offseason is now trending towards a big failure. AA is almost afraid to move pieces at this point. He’s going to mess around and hold prospects until their value is diminished and we’re gonna be up shit creek.
my one worry is we turn into the celtics of the mlb and value the idea of all our assets more than the idea of actually using them for a return. just hoarding players instead of cashing in on some of them
I've been on team "let's wait and see," especially with how slow the entire market has been. But the Realmuto trade definitely accelerates things. Phillies and Mets have made a lot of moves and improved a lot. We took a $25M flyer on Donaldson, and brought back a catcher who will play in probably less than 1/2 the games. That's about it.
Trending towards being upset. Guess need to buy some stock
don't hate the mccann signing but we definitely downgraded a decent bit at the catcher position compared to last year rip zook
and idk if the phillies would be dealing future assets for a catcher unless they feel pretty good about harper/machado being next down the pipeline which certainly worries me
even if they lose bryce, i don't think the nats got any worse either with robles/soto in the OF and adding a guy like corbin (and even anibal to a lesser extent) to an already strong staff.
not liking where we are right now
also this may be the last season with no DH. we really should have gone all-in this offseason and traded every prospect available to win a world series now before the sport is irreversibly tainted by that garbage
let's having some fun guys. fuck
Still withholding judgment, but I am starting to worry this is the team we will have to start the season. In that case, the Kakes deal is starting to look much worse.
Also, I’m still not forgetting the narrative after the Kemp trade last year.
The payroll is less than last season. They are either broke or taking profits without investing.
How dare you accuse a publicly traded corporation of behaving this way
how is it yikes
i gave some insider info that was mostly right. anyone could have predicted the phillies (1 out of possible 29 teams) only i could have predicted the day (1 out of possible 634 days he's under contract).
a little more appreciation would be nice or this is the last time i ever share a scoop
