This is dumb
So, the difference between the Barves and the Cubs is that one of them actually made the playoffs last season.
Another key difference is that one franchise was stingy enough not to give Jhey a billion dollars.
I don't know what you're smoking but he's 2-0 against us in 3 starts with like a 1.3 ERA.
I mean, it's three games from 2/3 years ago and his career ERA is over 5. I guess my point is: He's not on equal footing as the guy with the 10 WAR and it's a small sample size to declare someone "completely unhittable"
Have we burned it all down yet?
I'm more interested in signing Bryce Harper than Ben Harper.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm trying to delete it.
New season. Time to lock this one up.
I’m with you. I was at one of those games so it stands out in my mind.
I hear you, but I think the important thing to remember is that while he may have performed well against us, he’s still been shellacked by the rest of the league. We obviously need to beat the Phillies, but we also need them to lose more games than we do overall.
I also dont think we are better than the Dodgers does that make me less of a fan
I feel so young all of a sudden. Thank you.
This guy is a dumbass
By fair deals he means absurdly more than what happened in reality
Right? They got 0 top 100 prospects in the deal they made but a top 10 prospect of the past decade who was ready for the majors would have been fair
I think we’ve kind of overlooked it because of the offseason, but we still have two of the best position players in baseball in Freddie and Acuna. Realmuto would’ve been nice but I’m content holding onto Riley, Contreras, Waters, and Pache. The thing I don’t understand is how the Marlins main piece in return was a pitching prospect when we’ve got those out the ass. Anyway, more monkey p for us, I guess.
Jeets really needed a shitty 25 year old catcher from the Phils as the second piece.
I waffle back and forth from being positive to worrying everyone is gonna suck outside Free, Acuña and Donaldson
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that Dansby will actually hit somewhat worth a shit this year.
Agreed. Hoping he can stay healthy
It would be absolutely great if Ozzie and Dansby each hit in the .280 range. That would mitigate whatever the hell we get from LF and CF.
That's a scary fucking limb to be on.
Is he gonna go Ax Handle to fix it? Gotta be the bat
I feel like he has all the skills necessary. He just has to make adjustments in his approach. I don't expect him to be an All Star, but I think he could put together a season with league average or better offensive production, as opposed to the shit he's been giving us.
The next slider off the plate that Dansby takes will be his first.
To be fair, Ottavino did that to a lot of people last year.
Maybe, idk tho. It would be great if he could be decent. Take away all his intentional walks and his season last year was even worse
Yeah, just a fun pic for the convo
I didn’t have fun.
That is 2 feet off the plate. I can do that.
look at the big plate discipline on brad
“I played high school baseball. I could at least make contact against a big leaguer.”
*takes five straight pitches then*
i coulda gone D1 if i didn't pull my hamstring that one time
Don’t get me wrong. All I meant was that I too can flail hopelessly at a pitch two feet off the plate. Not meant as saying I’d have success of any kind against major league pitching, because I wouldn’t.
Atlanta Braves: Ronald Acuna Jr. The Braves signed Josh Donaldson, brought back Brian McCann, and all the young starting pitchers -- both those already in the majors and those close to getting there -- will be compelling, but in an offseason when the Braves declined to swing for the fences, it's all about Acuna. He immediately became one of the most compelling players in the game as a rookie, and after his monster second half -- he was third in the majors in OPS -- there's one question: Can he be MVP?
Level of excitement: 5. Imagine if they had actually signed Harper or traded for J.T. Realmuto, like they should have done.
Now why the hell would I do that
damn i must have missed harper signing elsewhere
I’ll tell you this: If Bryce signs with the cash strapped Giants, I’m gonna be livid and relieved at the same time.
Not good for a shareholder
If the limited activity by the Braves was more about faith in the prospects, we likely wouldn't mind as much.
This is the problem:
"There will be very few teams that have as much to spend in the marketplace next winter as the Atlanta Braves"
That was Terry McGuirk last March.
I didn’t want to overreact but after seeing the trade Philly made for Realmuto i’m convinced we just don’t want to do anything.
Foolish to assume the open money in payroll would be spent. This sucks.
I said I would wait till March cause nothing really matters till then. But if it's this dry then I will be quite upset I'm ngl
