gotcha covered fam
"Shandor Minding Co" has to refer to Ivo Shandor (which Ray and Egon found in Tobin’s Spirit Guide), who was the architect that built Dana's apartment building/the doorway to Gozer in the original. Between that and the giant dog standing on the car could Zuul, the Keymaster and Gozer be returning?
Really feels like a JJ Abrams movie with how much of it is going to be nothing but "hey guy, remember this thing from 30 years ago that you liked?"
Yeah they should. That would be pretty cool.
If they secretly got Moranis out of retirement for this I'm going to lose my shit.
I mean his kids have gotta be in their late 20s by now, his dad duties have to have lightened.
IIRC they got shrunk really tiny, and that could still be a burden.
This post is the nerdiest fucking thing I have seen in some time and I love it
I cannot wait for this movie.
Right there with ya
I'm really looking forward to this movie
Me ———> this movie
Still can’t believe they finally convinced Murray to reprise his role as Venkman
That actually looks pretty good but I kept waiting for the themesong to hit
Is the main girl supposed to be the child of Egon and Janine? Dead on if so
Yes. Yeah. Uh huh.
feel like thats the big reveal they are dragging out until the final trailer
waiting for the trailer that plays a minimalist, slow, and morose version of the theme song
Those little stay puft toys will be the new baby Yoda
It looks fucking incredible and Jason Reitman will bring the glory back to the franchise.
So the people at CinemaCon had the pleasure of seeing Afterlife. Below are their reactions:
Now tell me people weren't saying the same thing in the lead-up to the 2016 one
I think this film is going to be very very good. I’m going to be in tears too.
Paul Rudd doesn’t “get” the best lines. He simply makes his lines the best.
the fuck outta here calling it "the best of the series."
The original one is a perfect movie. It cannot be bested. Automatically do I disregard the professionalism of a reviewer who was given a sneak peak and writes that.
You haven’t even seen it yet.
It's probably going to suck
Nope and I have hopes it'll be great. I expect it to be at least good.
But saying "it's the best in the series" when the first film was one of those very rare, lightning in a bottle sort of movies that can't be replicated, goes beyond hyperbole into the realm of silliness.
I mean saying it’s better than the original is a ridiculously high bar being set
I’ll just go ahead and say it, but I think this is going to be the best movie of all time.
Ok nothing can top the OG ghostbusters 1984, but can afterlife be better than GB2 and the 2016 “ghostbusters?”
I think it can and it will.
Agreed. And if you only saw those Ghostbusters movies and this one, this one would definitely be top 3.
Did everyone see the 2016 Ghostbusters? What did you think of it?
Aggressively mediocre. Very try hard
Agreed. Chris Hemsworth was amazing in it though.
it was fine and had all the pitfalls of 90% of these reboots where the nostalgia pandering was more important than making a good movie
Correct, I'm very glad Zemeckis never allowed these assholes to remake Back to the Future, soulless blood suckers.
A lot of Gen X nostalgia angst ITT
