Do you experience the delayed recording I hear about from some people? Like will the camera only get the back of the UPS driver as he’s walking back down your driveway, where it doesn’t capture the entire “event” as he pulled up, walked up, etc.?
We had our house landscaped last year. Rabbits killed at least 6 different plants over the winter. Fortunately, they were all still under warranty so they got replaced this week at no charge to me.
They made it work. The old garage door wasn’t flush to the ground, we would have little chipmunks and mice crawl between the door and the slab. Really cold in the winter and really hot in the summer. Shit was all off kilter. There was extra concrete put in the corners by whoever put in the last garage door 20+ years ago. The bros has to chisel that out. They put in the 2x4’s in order to not leave any space between the door and the frame up top. Gonna paint that this weekend.
It works fine for what it is but my Ring floodlight annoys the shit out of me. Thankfully they added the snooze to the notifications recently. Otherwise that bitch keeps buzzing my phone over and over every couple minutes. I could understand if I dismissed the notification and it wants to tell me again, but the notification is still on my phone and it keeps vibrating. I get it, my kids are playing in the front yard/driveway. You don't need to tell me over and over for 30 minutes.
Very small project knocked out today while beers. Kayak rack done. 12' pressure treated 2×4 and 16 × 3" deck screws.
Do I have to use a brightener on the wood that I chemically stripped if I’m using a semi solid stain?
Don't know about a brightener, but the neutralizer step is important with chemical stripping. Should be in the directions.
We’re getting our house painted. Two of the three bids mentioned Sherwin Williams will come out and do a consultation for $95 regarding color schemes. I know have it down to 2-3 colors I want and was curious to know if anyone has used this consultation and whether it’s worth it.
Interior or exterior? Either way, go get $30 in samples of your final colors and paint swatches on the wall. Choose your fave. Save $65.
Just get it done between a couple of months and less than a year of exposure and you will never know the difference
And from my experience, my least favorite of my 3 finalists was the winner and my favorite was the hands down loser. Trust what shows up on the wall, not what you thought beforehand.
It's hard to tell if it's worth it. I know some really good Sherman Williams guys who are definitely worth it, but there are a lot who arent. Unless you know the person it's a total crap shoot
I huffed some sealant from another project, I am outside my body and can see everything. 3'×3'×8' deck box made of pressure treated 2×4's, cedar fence rails and 1×8 smooth cedar planks. Yeah it is huge but my wife made me buy lots of cushions and pillows. Was going to wait until I had the lid made to post but why the hell not.
How long would y’all leave your house on the market before making a price adjustment? I think our price is priced fair per square foot but there’s so much new construction here that it’s hurtinf resale. We have 10 houses for sale in our neighborhood alone. We’re in somewhat of a hurry to get out. I would love to be out by the end of next month. House has only been on the market for a week but several of the agents in our area are asking homeowners about dropping prices to compete with the new construction.
Depends on the particular market. An actual good realtor should know that answer. I was in Phoenix and had discussed lowering our price after 3 weeks on the market before we even listed, because she swore we should list for higher than what I thought. She was right and it sold pretty quickly.
How many showings have you had? I’m of the opinion you’ll end up with a better sales price listing it for $1 than for what the actual value is
laid down top soil and bermuda seed in some bald spots in the yard then it rained and washed it all away. damn it!
Closed on new house Friday. Getting a wall ripped out, new paint everywhere, new appliances bought, im going to take out a tree. Hopefully get to move in sometime this year
We’ve had 3 scheduled showings in a week then an open house yesterday with about 5 people coming by. We listed it Mother’s Day weekend so we expected it to be slow plus it’s been raining non stop since Tuesday here. For the circumstances I think it’s doing ok. I think I’m leaning towards dropping the price to where I want to be on the sell price and being stricter on negotiating than having it listed higher with room to negotiate.
Just an update on this. They requested 3 items for remediation and we pushed back on all three, including the chimney. We weren't trying to stonewall or anything, but just applying the contract that we agreed to. We just got their reply back on Friday, and they accepted our reply - so we don't have to do a thing. Only outstanding item is the radon test, and we'll pick up the tab for remediation if need be. Also just heard that the appraisal came back fine, which I was really worried about. I'm now back to leaving a nice bottle of champagne and a nice note for the buyers.
So weeded and power washed it but I am missing a lot of sand ? Between the pavers and after 10 years it’s shifting, what can I do I’ll take pics later and post
I am sorry, I already posted all I know about patio pavers. I am guessing you just buy sand and use a pushbroom to start filling the cracks again.
Except if it’s shifting it’s probably time to remove the pavers to smooth out your foundation, then lay them again.
A lot of the new developments I’m seeing are putting synthetic grass in between the pavers. Imo it’s brilliant. Makes it so you never have weeds growing up or anything.
Anyone ever acid stain concrete? Going to give it a go in a weekend or two, any tips would be appreciated. Finishing up drywall today. Going to take a ton of time between, taping off drywall, cleaning up all the old glue and washing, rewashing, and washing more.
