Small 15”x15” bar/prep sink, my kitchen is not a 7-Eleven. To the left of it is coffee/espresso/mini fridge and to the right of it is my main prep space for preparing food in between it and the range space.
Makes sense. That was my first guess but I didn't see any pre drill for the faucet (see it now). For the record I think a prep trash drop would be really cool....
Is it the French door? We bought a Samsung French door 3.5 years ago. We’ve had a ton of problems with the ice maker. Bought extended warranty, thank god, from Best Buy. Had someone come out probably 6 times. Never truly fixed it. Ended up getting a check for the cost of the fridge from the extended warranty company. Had someone from geek squad come look at it and they fixed it. Not sure what they did, but it was different than what anyone else tried. Knock on wood it still works.
I went to war with the ice maker and won. Stopped making ice one day. Went so far as to install a new one and realized that didn’t fix the problem. I have the French doors with the underneath freezer drawer. It started to sag slightly and was not engaging the door close sensor completely. A little shim fixed it. The whole point is ice makers are pretty standardized and there is a wealth of info out there showing how to troubleshoot a broken one.
Seriously tho, this will probably take me multiple days because I like to drink beer when I work on the house and I reach a stop working and continue drinking point. Also, I have 2 bathrooms to remodel next year so I will nenes for that as well.
Hey, are you guys going to help me pick out a tool I am going to write off on taxes for my pool business at the end of the year or not?

The previous homeowner left us some of her lawn care equipment, but it looks like a lot of it is shit or missing parts. I'm sure I could get a good deal if I hunted around Craigslist/FB/Nextdoor for used equipment, but are the Ryobi trimmer/edger combos any good? Seem inexpensive and I likely wouldn't get one expecting it to last forever, but figured I'd ask.
If you are going with ryobi for gas powered stuff, with typical homeowners use I would expect to replace it every couple of years just because you can't get the engine to run anymore
I had ryobi cordless drills, etc for a long time that worked pretty well They very quickly got to where the battery would have to be charged immediately before you needed to use them, like it wouldn't hold a charge just sitting overnight but once I was used to that they seemed to serve their purpose, after 5 years or so they just wouldn't charge at all Their newer stuff is supposed to be better about that stuff I've never had their battery powered lawn equipment Now I have all makita cordless drills, etc, and the batteries are great and hold a charge forever. They seem to be quite a bit more powerful too, but I did go from old worn out ryobi straight to new makita stuff
Yeah I'm reading that most of the lawn care equipment battery powered stuff is good except for blowers.
First advice is register the device, Ryobi is the HD brand. It’s built by the Chinese and labeled for sale in Home Depot. I have the trimmer and blower. The blower battery died about a year in. The trimmer was a different story, if you google issues; the one I had was it would have a fully charged battery and after a few minutes the device would start and stop every two or three seconds. I checked online and it’s a common issue. It’s a problem internally in the top part. I submitted warranty claim as they recently extended the warranty to five years. They sent me a replacement fairly quickly. Overall the batteries are expensive and not great but for small use around the house, they seem to do a decent job. Check the version of blower if you have one, they just recalled one recently bc the fan is plastic and can break and send pieces flying.
What’s been the consensus on home WiFi systems? I have a ranch home but then a large garage with finished bonus rooms on top. I installed my router on the opposite side of the house and get the 2.4 and 5.0 signal decently on the main level. It’s not a strong signal on the other side of the house so I bought a netgear extender but didn’t wire it so I have 2 other 2.4 and 5.0 networks in my house. I did prerun cat5 during the construction and ran it up to my office and had an old router that I plug it in to so I can get WiFi in the bonus rooms but it’s now my 5th different WiFi network and it’s frustrating. I wish phones would be smart enough to prioritize but I keep getting hung up on the weak signal. Someone tell me a better option. Is it google Home that automatically switches to the closest WiFi point? Thanks
You need a mesh system. I have the eero system and can highly recommend it. I have not tried the others.
The mesh wiresless system creates one network. You can set up with cat5 or use soemthing like Google WiFi , orbi, plume, amplifinHD. Just depends in square footage and levels if the house which is better.
Mesh works fantastic. I stream everything and have my TV downstairs and the modem upstairs and everything looks great.
What did you go with. My house is only 2500 square feet but I'm leaning towards orbi due to it only being 1 story and that should push it to the back yard.
I did the Google 3-pack since I have 3 levels in my house (Ranch with an additional walk-up bedroom). Definitely could’ve got away with two since my house is around 2,100 sq ft
Feel like this is what I’ll do as well. Currently $300 for a 3 pack. I’ll be looking for Black Friday deals.
a.tramp I have the 7" Kobalt table style tile saw. It has cut a shit ton of tile for me. Spend 50 bucks and get a nice blade (very important for porcelain) and you won't be sorry. Otherwise, rent one of the M&K sliders and appreciate how nice they are. Definitely on my dream tool list, but we probably don't do enough tile work to justify owning one, at this point.
The amplify has bad reviews out their. Most every YouTube or review I see says the unifi is best but they rushed the wifi amplifi
