Who has preordered the Yukon?
$550 is a bit steep and it's not very portable...
Contractor just called. Apparently there was a leak last night in house. It came from under the foundation and soaked two rooms. Fuck me.
Hey man, if you are looking to carry fire, you need to be in the market for a torch, not a firepit
They're also coming out with a Ranger, smaller than the standard. 10% discount if you send them a picture of your jeans cuffs up.
Wife said the solo stove is ugly.
So I located some slightly wet wood and fired up the chiminea and after realizing how smoky her clothes were, “maybe we should get the solo stove”
Chimineas suck so bad
I hate them
I keep seeing the solo stove on if and am super tempted to buy one.
I'm gunna be interested in seeing how many people still love their solo stoves in a couple of years
What do you have against Estonians, you bigot?
I love Estonians, really great people, hard workers. Better garage door repairman, but hard workers.
Breaker looks brand new. A/C is a pretty old unit, but I had a friend who owns an A/C company come by and he said that i don't need to replace it for another few years. So it can't be that bad.
Looks like we’re moving forward with building the house as of this moment. One thing I don’t like about the plan is the small lanai. I’m having the builder do a 10x30 slab of concrete during the build process so I can have a nice area to work with. They quoted me $2,800 which I know is higher from the builder but here’s my thought process. I don’t want to have some tear the yard up to get back there to build it afterwards and also deal with hoa approval to get it done. Thoughts?
Me too, I'll probably bite if they go on sale.
If there is any site work to speak of (grading) that's a pretty good price. Probably close to 1k in material. Rest would be labor for excavation, forming, aggregate, reinforcement, pouring, placing, and finishing. Your thoughts on timing are spot on too.
It’s a fairly level lot. I thought the price was fair considering what I would have to deal with doing afterwards.
I just bought one for $239.00, they're running a sale if you apply the discount code "earlytimes" which looks like it will expire in about 3 hours... godspeed
We’re not really blown away with the granite choices from the builder. We’re thinking of doing a base level granite then finding what we like from a granite yard. How hard would it be for someone to install the new granite without damaging our new cabinetry? That worries me.
Hard part is not damaging the walls
And the sink if it's under-mounted. Ripping out the granite will warp the sink and you'll need to put a new one in.
That’s what I was thinking. I’ll talk with the design team tomorrow and see if we can go to the granite supplier and see some other options. Don’t want the damage possibilities.
Best cordless stick vacuum? My wife is set on an overpriced Dyson.
We have the Dyson pet cordless one, should be on sale soon various places for the holiday season. Got ours last year around Xmas. Battery went on mine but called and they replaced it for free. Thing is definitely legit.
do you know which model?
I believe it's the V7 Animal. Pretty sure we paid $199.
I caved and got the V8 absolute and as far as vacuums go it's awesome.
I feel like the higher the price, the longer the battery life or am I wrong there?
Safe bet. If you're stuck between 2 models google dyson v8 vs v7 or whatever models you're between and there are plenty of breakdown comparions out there.
So I have no experience with Bahia grass, what I do know is that it is pretty sensitive and using regular weed and feed / Scott's etc is a bad idea. Upon further research of the proper chemicals I found it would be cheaper to use TruGreen so they could do fertilizer/pest control/weed control all at once. I've used them in the past before I started getting into the joy of doing it myself so I figured why not. Talked them down in cost and had my first treatment on 11/8.
Well, let's just say... Fuck TruGreen.
Manager is coming tomorrow and promised to fix it... But fuck
Gave you the Bermuda treatment
I’m sure I shouldn’t do this but what are the boards thoughts. Just started the building process and house won’t be finished until July. Should I buy appliances now with the deals and store them in our storage unit or wait until July 4th sales? I really don’t want to waste a years warranty but have found some really good deals.
In a similar boat. We are gonna wait.
Appliances go on sale constantly, I'd wait.
Don’t buy Samsung. Fuck those fridges (ice maker).
Ha. We had Samsung washer and dryers and couldn’t agree more. First thing my wife said when the sales person approached us and said we have a great sale on Samsung was “Hell no”.
We just bought some appliances, but I’ve got a kitchen remodel around the corner in january. I’ve got space to store them.
Samsung appliances and they are great. Whether it's taking care of them or just general luck it seems like there's very little consensus on here.
TruGreen came by, admitted they probably killed it off.
Said they at least have to try to fix it before replacing it so they will do fertilizer tomorrow. If that doesn't work (which he doesn't think it will), they will offer to either replace the bahaia grass free of charge, OR if I pay the difference between bahaia and St Augustine they will do that. Seems like it might have been a blessing in disguise if I can do that deal.
If I had to put a number on it, about 98% done with remodel. Ignore the pile of shit in the corner of countertops, Thanksgiving meal prep pantry overflow.
1. Sand and stain the island back as well as the top of cabinets on either side of fireplace (I used the same red oak for both).
2. Finish tile above range when correct vent hood arrives.
3. Install toe-kick under cabinets.
4. Install filler panel left of upper cabinet at bev station.
5. Small trim piece where tile meets cabinet uppers.
6. Find things to hang on bare den walls.
Really glad you are going to address number one and two. The island back personally wouldn’t be my choice but I hate it with the color it is now. It should work well once drained. I can live with that. On the other hand the tile not coming all the way to the vent hood triggered me. I was going to offer to come to Texas and finish it for you.
Have same backsplash.. cool .
a.tramp What color are you staining the island back?
A deep red cherry, to match his neighbors floors
Not sure yet, am putting my head together with my 2 brothers today to try to determine that. My initial though is somewhat of a tan/gray color but want to bounce it off some peeps that can see it in the lighting. Similar to this maybe.
Thanks for reminding me of the other thing, plantation shutters are going in on those 2 windows.
Hmm lg oled 65 inch or Samsung qled 75 inch. Both are around 2k
I just grabbed the 65” OLED. I love it. Not sure where you’re seeing it for 2k though.
I would just look into warranty issues buying it off eBay. I know they had problems with the 2017 model.
