I typically keep it 75 when I'm home during the summer and push it up to 78 when I leave for work. Was pushing it up to 80 but it was taking forever to get it back to 75 when it was really hot
Bham AL I have it on 72 at night, switch it to 76 (eco) when i wake up til around 2 o clock and then i set it back to 72 to cool back down for the evening.
Keep it at 71 at night but sleeping next to my furnace of a wife I've thought about dropping it a couple more degrees. anything over 75 and I would wake up in a pool of water.
Pray tell, how are there ants emanating from under my refrigerator which sits against a wall that does not abut an outdoor boundary?
Up through the opening for water line? Small opening/crack and they come up. Happened in one of our guest bathrooms where the waterline for the sink came up through slab.
So the AC guy came back as my upstairs unit is not cooling. He checked and the compressor is dead. He starts talking me into upgrading the unit to a 410 unit. Said the freon replacements will get very expensive as the freon gets disallowed. I start doing some research and I find a receipt from 2015, where the home warranty company replaced the downstairs compressor. I am going to try and use that as leverage. Its almost 4 years old. AC guy said I am probably going to have to pay for 7 lbs of freon (at $70 a lb) and other charges, said the compressor is about $500. He says, I need to upgrade, so I am looking at all the options. Any reccomendations? I know Boo put in a Bosch unit a while back. Trane, Lennox, any suggestions if I pull the trigger?
He is giving you good advice probably imo. The R-22 freon as of Jan 1, 2020 will not longer be allowed to be manufactured or imported to the US so whatever is out there after Jan 1, 2020 is going to be what's left and people will be able to mark that shit up astronomically. My buddy is in the HVAC business and he swears by Lennox.
Does anyone have a sliding driveway gate? I am looking to build one for my driveway and have been drawn to cantilever gate because it's much less labor intensive to install. Looking for some feedback
Thanks for the heads up. My only issue is they quoted me like 7 grand. For a TWO ton unit. That is WAY over priced in my eyes. I can get a 2 ton for WAY less. I am thinking I am going to look at what options they give me for replacing the compressor. I mean its three years old.
I had a 10 foot wooden gate that lined up with our 10 foot fence at my old house. I would have preferred your video, because it didn't always close evenly if there was wind. It ended up chipping pieces of the wood over time. The one in your video is less private, obviously, but if that isn't a concern, I'd go that route
That's just an example. The actual gate usually needs to be custom made to fit a certain size. Also my company has a metal shop with 6 dudes who weld stainless all day, something more private and custom (like below) they could bust out in a few hours.
damn you guys out here building front gates to your lairs and i'm over here wondering if a front load washing machine is worth it
That makes sense. I guess my overall recommendation would be that if you could get one that has a track behind where it meets the gate, instead of dead on, that would be ideal. Mine was also a little older and not compatible with the myq smart system. That would have been nice to open and close it remotely.
Just got a buddy to fill my ac freon for free. Twas nice. Also taught me that all servicing an AC is is taking the outside off, pulling the plug and light spraying the foils to get the dust out.
Sir you forgot the most important part.....billing the customer $160+ for said work. I'm kidding, sort of. Nice when they blow the condensate lines, check the float switches, and bleach the lines too. Hope everyone is weathering the heatwave okay.
Jorts, our place was difficult to get the mortgage approved for due to it being a farm with a potential rental property on. We had to go through AgFirst. If we wanted to look into refinancing, do you think it would be as difficult to refinance as it did to get the initial loan, and would we be limited to certain lenders again? We're in SC so I know you don't cover our area.
Is there a consensus on best yard sprinkler via hose? I need a long distance sprayer if possible. Thinking old school single spray.
Your buddy Lee and I have swapped emails. He seems helpful but we still haven't found the right house yet to kick into gear
Anybody have a shed they like? I need one big enough to store my mower (44" walk behind) and other lawn equiptment, kids crap (powerwheel) and stuff.
He’s good people & great at what he does. The only negative I can say about him, is his affinity for Jimmy John’s subs
So had some furniture delivered a few weeks ago and tipped the guys. My wife decided she also wanted an end table and the furniture store said they have it sent to store and we could come by and look at it & buy if we liked. Instead they have it scheduled to be delivered. Do I tip them for handing me an end table?
