Late entry here, but there's something to this. Nice hole in that major root...drop in some powerful herbicide...wait a little longer...tree fades into a peaceful repose.
My FIL was legit irate when he saw that we had a bougain. Had to tell him A. Calm down it's just a plant don't go near it you'll be fine B. Talk to your daughter I didn't pick that shit.
best home security company? we have had Alder and it's been mediocre at best. We are moving this weekend so have a chance to start something new. so looking at getting one with wired cameras set up. is Vivint any good?
I use a local place for monitoring on doors and windows and keep the camera separate. I feel like it's better to have control over my own gadgets and update when I want, but that's a personal preference.
Gracilis bamboo is a clumping variety and doesn't put out runners. It gets 30 ft high in just a few years. All clumping bamboo is non-invasive and won't run.
Cool to know I just know a friend had a neighbor who planted some bamboo along their property line and it was a battle for years
8 and above. Different clumping bamboo varieties have different tolerances though. I have a hedge of Fargesia Robusta and it doesnt like intense direct heat or high humidity. Others thrive in that sort of climate.
Same here. For me another bonus is I know the dude who is coming out. He knows his shit, we shoot the shit and they always show up. It’s not often, but with the bigger places I did not have the same experience. Plus they are more honest. Couple items they said to me, well you can do “x”, which meant they weren’t getting paid. A big shop could have bent me over and I would have paid.
I have it. It’s fine for what I need. Which is a relatively small sidewalk and parking pad. I would probably get something more heavy dusty if I had a larger driveway though
Got a contract on my house. Now time to find a new place. Looking around Trussville and auburn/opelika in Alabama and Carrollton ga. look forward to the home inspector reports in my near future.
Let me know if you need any recommendations for good realtors around Trussville, AL or Carrollton, GA. Can't help much with Auburn though unfortunately.
Do you have the circular attachment? I really am just looking for one around the house and to pressure wash my deck.
I had a buddy give me a rec. if you have any areas that are preferable around there lmk. Looking for good schools.
Stockton in Trussville is a seemingly nice, pretty new housing development pretty much right in town. It's alleged to be a swinging hub. Carrington Lakes is a little more on the outskirts of Trussville but bigger lots and more privacy. I don't know if it's a sexually active community but there is a clubhouse and it has other community amenities.
I have been told that by 3 totally different individuals. It could be complete bullshit but it also might not be.
Don't let that turn you away. Stockton has nice homes and my understanding is that it's not even close to everyone. Just that there's a notable group that will feel you out about "the lifestyle" when and if you move in.
told my wife. She replied “you are just going to take some tmb person word” I replied that I didn’t need her putting out a pineapple when I go out of town so uncle Brad knows to come over.
Me and the wife had our life standards set pre internet but we enjoy the conveniences of calendar cloud life. But we remember those beautiful (ugly actually but for this yarn let’s say beautiful) full desk sized calendars for scheduling things. We’re trying to find a system that would let us have the best of both worlds: large, touch screen, cloud tied to our various calendars. Alexa makes one but it’s only fifteen inches. At this point I’m thinking of wall mounting a 55” touch screen wireless monitor, building a server, and leaving Google calendar displayed. I just want to passively walk down the hallway look up and be like “oh the daughters recital is next Thursday.” Do you all have a better tool for this?
I'm kind of here as well. This is the route I'm thinking: https://www.etsy.com/listing/805883...42&click_sum=c43e99e7&ref=hp_rv-1&frs=1&sts=1 There are also guides online to build them yourself and could do it for a ~ quarter of that price.
Google raspberry pi (micro PC) + whatever Here is one: https://www.hanselman.com/blog/how-...shboard-with-a-raspberry-pi-and-cheap-monitor "raspberry pi home calendar" or something like that. The magic mirrors are also neat "raspberry pi magic mirror"
1 of our AC units is dying and we're going to replace it. The company we use has Carrier products. There's a bronze single stage and a silver 2 stage which is a few thousand more. Anyone know if it matters enough to pay more or will we never notice?
I've been looking for something similar for a while now. Aside from the DAKboard, none of the options have seemed very user friendly or plug and play. Here's another link to some DAKboard options: https://shop.dakboard.com/collections/wall-displays
Had an open house over the weekend and turn out was solid. Meeting with our agent in a bit to go over the six offers we have. I'm sad to see my childhood home go but I'm ready for the closure.
Great idea. No direct experience but I'm a cal junkie so keep us updated. Re sizes - 55" only if mounted to your ceiling or in a huge open room. 27 or 32 inch monitor at only 1080p should cover most common area placements where you would interact with touch. Even 32" seems large if your zoom/text size is good and you don't have wasted space.
We're moving into a new build and need to get a range for it. I wanted to take advantage of the Inflation Act rebate and go electric. Can someone c/p the Consumer Reports link to see what they rank best? https://www.consumerreports.org/appliances/ranges/best-electric-ranges-of-the-year-a1735435113/
Can someone tell me what this is called? It’s in my basement and not the ejector pit, pump, masticator area but seems to be connect. Backed up with some masticated poo water tonight which I’ve got up but did get a little into the carpet. Wet vac’d and pulled up, fans and dehumidifier running. Waiting to hear from plumber who will prob come in the morning, but I don’t know what this hole is called or referred to as
Septic? I wonder if that drain runs out close to septic and backs up with a lot of rain and drain. My parents house did that growing up with a small drain pipe
Looks like its a drain, probably with a P trap, going into your main line. You might have a blockage down the line causing the water to back up out of the drain.
This. Did you recently start running your AC for the season? If it connects to your sewer main there is a ptrap. My moms in Florida just ran outside. I bought a little plastic adaptor and some compressed air cartridges and blew it out a couple times. something I just learned this year is during furnace season, if you have a ptrap connected to the main, the water in the ptrap can evaporate and then you basically have an air vent directly connected your sewer main with the intake for your furnace. Stinky. Now I pour a cup of water in it to keep that p trap full every week.
No we still aren’t warm enough for ac. Thinking maybe the ejector pump went out and that drain is also connect to the pit where the basement bath septic collects. We don’t get much smell from there and I’m down next to it every morning in the gym. No issues yesterday morning so I’m not sure what happened outside of rain we got yesterday with the storms. Even then my main sump on the other side of the basement had no issues. I’m just gonna have someone come out and take a look today if they can.
