Was like 70% off but my reason for posting was total saved. Was a combination laugh and fuck you Michaels at the same time.
I wouldn't but keep in mind, I'm no expert on it but people that I consult with and trust won't fuck with it, that's enough for me personally.
I have used ozone in a couple situations and as long as it is properly vented and used away from people it should be fine. If that was my house with the odors ozone would be my first solution. We used it for a house which had skunk spray and that was the only thing to mitigate the smell.
Let's say that I have an outdoor spigot that rarely gets used, but sprays water at the vacuum breaker when it does. Said breaker has no set screw and is locktited on. If my main goal was to prevent my wife from complaining when she gets wet (you married me, you should be used to it), and I didn't want to fully remove the breaker, would a fat rubber band or flex seal buy me some time? It's leaking at that opening just below the green writing.
Had the same problem just with dog piss. First I did a carpet cleaning and it didn’t solve the problem so I rented an ozone. It finished the job.
So plumber came by today, had to wait for the "Call before you dig" guys from the city to come out and mark lines. Said whoever replaced my lines did a shitty job using a sharks head connector. Said it looked like it was done by irrigation guys (seems that plumbers look down on them). Cost me $800, so all told I'm out $1300.
If any repair guy ever complimented work from a previous guy I'd be floored. Honestly never witnessed it before.
I really need a shed but I don't feel like dropping that coin right now so I'm getting a storage unit. I'm so god damn excited to get my garage clean. Hoping to get a shed by next summer.
What will you put in a storage unit that you absolutely have to keep but don't need on site? I ask this only because I get clutter stress and enjoy getting rid of shit I haven't had a need for in years. In fact, let me come over and I'll decide what you don't need!
Holiday decor the biggest space suck. I've got numerous trunks/boxes of family heirlooms and shit that I have no idea what to do with. My wife has a giant "memory box" my MIL pawned off on me a decade ago. Swear it has every piece of schoolwork she ever did from K-12. Really buncha bullshit.
Oh I've been here before, specifically with the K-12 memorabilia. When I cleared out my garage and attic and become whole again, I took the three giant K-12 boxes my wife had gathered over 20 years and set them out on Thanksgiving when the kids were in college. Each of them had an hour to sift through their individual boxes and keep what they wanted. Everything else was getting tossed. They kept MAYBE two items each. Was an exceptional plan and I had a great sleep that night, I did. We don't decorate anymore, save for Christmas minimally. Gave the Halloween stuff to my oldest and she wanted maybe one thing. Rest was tossed. Another great day. My ability to avoid emotional attachment to inanimate items is breathtaking. Took some time but now it's automatic.
Came home from work today and heard a weird tapping sound. Thought it was my kid tapping on the window. Nope it was a gd squirrel eating my fucking gutter.
Squirrels are so gosh darn cute! If he was chewing on my neighbor’s house I’d sit out there with a cup of coffee and watch him for hours. Spoiler if that mother fucker comes within 8 feet of my house his ass is getting blown away with my .22 Spoiler jk I don’t have a gun. Guns are for losers
They're small enough to be taken out by a .177 airgun which you can legally use as opposed to discharging a firearm in most municipalities
I've always wanted to go all out for Halloween and this was finally the year so I bought this 12 ft guy, a 7ft guy, and bunch of gravestones among other things. Christmas I've already got 3-4 bins, full size fake tree, mini fake tree, and I'm sure I'll be adding more. No fucking clue what I would have done with all this shit without getting the unit.
Going for our design appt on Wednesday. Hopefully now that we’re building our 3rd house this will be the final one. Feel like I’m a pro at design centers now and knowing the options.
My built in microwave I think tripped an outlet and I have reset all the GFCI outlets on the first floor I can find and it’s still not fixed. Driving me mad, there’s got to be one I’m missing
if i've learned anything from this thread, there's definitely one in an obscure location. or Lip will just tell you to move.
It’s in a pantry next to my kitchen. I’ve found two in the kitchen, 1 in downstairs guest bathroom, 1 in laundry and 2 in garage. I don’t even need to use it right now, it’s just driving me nuts haha
I had one in my last house that was on my patio that was controlled to a bedroom that wasn't all that close or some weird shit like that
Tbh that house was built in the 70s by someone who must have been a homesteader because everything was fucked.
I mean I’m doing this correct, right? Literally just hit the reset button? Or hit the test button so it pops out then hit reset? I’ve done both. About to have a beer and search this whole house
Take a look at all of your gfi outlets and see if one has a light on or off that others don't. Had that issue a few months ago and couldn't get it to reset. I could tell something was fucked from the light being different on that one. Was about to replace the outlet and my FIL was around. He hit the reset button way more aggressively than I apparently did and it reset.
Being that the house was built in the 70s I assume there was a remodel at some point since you have gfci outlets at all. So it was probably wired by a weekend warrior and you’re totally fucked and should probably just move
quoting for 5 years from now when you finally get your shit out of there Spoiler coming from someone that had shit in storage for “one year” actually in for three. Good luck sucker!
Man all this squirrel hate by everyone has me second guessing the 20+ I have around me that are terrorizing my dog everyday. Sometimes they'll come up on the back porch just to piss her off.
Definitely me after clearing out a unit I had most of my stuff in while selling my place. It's a lot of "why the fuck stuff I save this?", And that was just from storing stuff 7 months. Also, fuck home depot's appliance delivery crew. Getting to spend the morning correctly installing a dryer thanks to them.
Did you wind up finding the problem outlet? At our last house I had one in my garage that got tripped and killed the outlet in our master bathroom.
No lol. I’m not really sure what to do at this point bc I can’t stomach paying someone to find a gfci outlet. Going to expand my search tomorrow
