Assume cast concrete? Have you seen the crack or photos of it?. Around here a new tank would be 5-6 grand, maybe less. If you have a crack above the discharge pipe height, it's not leaking but could collapse if someone drove over it (likely what caused it to begin with) and could wait for winter or slow time for the replacement contractor and save some $.
Quoted $8,800 for tank replacement and sent this. I have no idea what I am looking at or if it’s bullshit. Is it possible water is low because we haven’t been there/run water in 5-weeks? We had the tank pumped 18-months ago and there were no problems. The tank and leech field is in an area that is inaccessible to vehicles, so no way it got driven on or damaged by external factors.
we have two other places lined up for later this week to look at it if needed. We just got this back this afternoon from the first place (they notified us late Friday). They are coming back out tomorrow to fill it with water to make sure it’s actually “leaking,” but the email/picture they sent doesn’t show a crack.
I don't think we have any shit sucker experts on here, but it sounds like you are at least the right amount of suspicious
Buying a house is funny. I’ve spent almost as much energy negotiating over some furniture and appliances as negotiating for the house itself.
just the fridge which the original contract stipulated wouldn’t stay but they later offered to leave. Mostly some furniture (nice Bassett sofa and chairs).
how hard is installing a dishwasher? getting one dropped off today (Bosch 100 series, thanks TMB) I have very basic plumbing skills.
Just don't forget to hook the drain up Have had two different friends who installed their own and forgot to hook the drain up. Makes for a bad day
Not hard. You basically wire it and then attach it to the cabinets or whatever well it's in. That was how mine was at least
Not too difficult. You’ll want to pay attention to the drain hose and make sure it is higher than the sink’s p-trap so everything drains in the correct direction. Watch a couple of YouTube videos you’ll be ok.
I always just get it from costco or somewhere that can install it for $100 or less. Looks easy but I try not to fuck around with water if I can avoid it
Finally got around to hiring someone to hook up a 240 outlet interlock to my breaker. Now I don't have to run extension cords through the house when we lose power during the next wonderful ice storm. Now I need to figure out how to add a push button start to the generator so my wife can handle it when i am not home.
Funshot Residue or anyone else what is an appropriate amount of time to let the 2nd coat of poly sit on newly stained floors before moving stuff in?
The internet says 72 hours and no rugs for a month. No sliding furniture and put felt pads under the furniture
Do you already have a dishwasher that you are replacing? If you are replacing, its a piece of cake but will still take about an hour or so. Just make sure fittings are tight and not crimped. If you are installing new, the biggest and most costly mistake people do is not removing the plastic knockout on thier disposal. They then run it for the first time at night and wake up to a ruined kitchen. Leads me to another tip, for like the first 3 washes, try your best to run it while you are awake and at home. You dont want a fitting getting loose and flooding your place.
We talking about floors or things my wife says when I answer the "does this make me look fat" question the wrong way?

I can't imagine how rich I'd be if that were true. I also would never say that because my wife would saw my head off.
I have settled on this one to pressure wash my deck. Please respect my decision. https://a.co/d/ew5qwLX
I would give you a review of the greenworks one I bought on prime day a couple of years ago for like $100 but I’ve never taken it out of the packaging
Had a shelf in the kitchen cabinets just fall the fuck down last night The stupid little plastic shelf pin brackets that make the shelves adjustable broke. Well one broke, then another broke as I was pulling all the stuff out of the cabinet and then a third broke while I was trying to pull it out to replace it with the metal brackets I just happened to have in the garage. Plastic just brittle as it could be. Went trying to get the broken pieces out of the hole but it's impossible to grab with needle nose pliers So I went to get a screw to screw into it then pull it out. No go because the rough broken surface i couldn't get the screw to bite and it just kept walking over and trying to catch the wood. Same trying to make a little pilot hole with a small drill bit Finally I googled looking for ideas, Ended up taking my little plumbing torch, heating the tip of the screw till it glowed red then pressed it in the broken peg and held it still till the plastic cooled, little pull on the screw and boom, it came out easily New handyman tip unlocked
I always say champagne drunk feels like your feet aren't even touching the ground, but then you wake up at 4am and feel like your face is sliding off the front of your skull.
Wouldn't work here, these were like hole is drilled slightly too small so the peg was hard to press in stuck
Such an occasion based drink. We arrived at our resort just south of Playa Del Carmen a few weeks ago and after walking in to the air conditioned lobby and taking a seat for the check-in procedure, they poured us a glass of chilled champagne. It was delightful and I felt it before I was halfway through the flute. I don't eat much on travel days so this hit real quick. Actually had a second glass before we were done with all the walkthrough and I went to that first dinner with a hearty appetite.
