I'm looking for 16" wide, 7'-0" long, in 2" and 5/8" thickness. Any chance you know if your average lumber shop or home depot/lowes offer select pine in those dimensions?
I threw out select pine as it was what we used to anchor our barn doors in the bedroom and takes paint/stain better without a ton of knots. I went out and bought a 2'' (1.5'') thick board for our exposed shelving in the kitchen at Lowe's that my GC nixed, and he picked up a select pine piece 12'' wide, 8'' long, and 1'' thick with beveled edge from a trim shop. The dimensions you're looking for will be at HD/L's so go take a look at the actual piece of lumber, but it won't be the top grade best possible lumber to stain.
Anybody have one of the battery operated car jumpers that they'd recommend? Car was dead this morning and I had jumper cables but nobody around with a car.
ive got one from lowes, schumaker brand i think, it has worked the couple of times i needed it ive left it plugged in for like 2 years
Replacing a kitchen faucet pretty simple to do? Connor Norman Mine has started to leak (well it always has a little, it's just way more noticeable now). They didn't mark it down on the inspection sheet but the final walk through is Friday so I'm preparing in case they see that and want it fixed/replaced.
Builder across the street poured two foundations last weekend and somehow got a bunch of concrete spots on my car and my wife's car. Went to the construction foreman to complain and he said he would take care of it. He needed to talk to his boss first. I was thinking two vouchers for a wash at the local washtub, $25 each. He calls me back and said they found a high-end mobile detailer. I meet with the guy and he tells me my car will look brand new when he is done with it. He says he will clean inside and out and lend me his car for the day. This detailer is charging the builder ONE THOUSAND dollars total for both cars. Got mine back yesterday and the guy does phenomenal work. Sanded down the headlights, cleaned the engine, applied touchup paint to hood for rock chips, shampooed carpets, applied finish to leather seats, washed the outside and removed the concrete, I mean the works. It looks phenomenal. I'm not sure I'd ever pay that kind of money to get my car detailed but I am very glad those guys managed to get concrete on my car.
Worst idea ever, the inspector will turn the knobs to see if water comes out. If it doesn't you'll get marked for it and I bet he doesn't look to see if the water is on.
Haha. It's a walk though and not an inspection. I doubt people will be flushing every toilet and turning on every faucet.
Mine is an '07 Tahoe. Wife's isn't done yet, probably will wait until the hurricane(s?) come through and I'll try and remember to post a pic of her's ('17 Suburban) when it's done.
Sorry man I've been busy. (Future) Mother in law in town. Gonna try to get it squared away this weekend so I'll prolly post some pics on Friday
What kinda doctor drives an '07 Tahoe? Spoiler Just kidding. That looks almost brand new for being 10 years old
I'm in dental sales. One of my doctors drives an early 2000's car. He wrote me a check for the $150,000 piece of equipment I sale. I'm sure lechnerd is able to by these nice things for his house bc he hasn't overextended himself on a Maserati.
Only 130k. I lived downtown and could walk/bus to work for about 9-10 years so I only put about 5-7k miles on per year for much of its life. I was in a heated garage too so the body looks way newer than 15 years. I did get jealous of my wife's car so I upgraded to a Bluetooth receiver and I quickly got over the desire to upgrade the whole car. It's been paid off for years so I'd rather my son makes a mess of this than a new car.
For the record most of the toys around the house I purchase through free Amazon gift cards I get through work. I'm not sure why I haven't gotten a new car. I do enjoy not having a car payment. I slide into my car each day and feel like it fits my body like a glove, that's hard to explain. I never really clean it b/c during my 1.25 hour commute (each way) for work I hit nearly every bug in Texas. It works well for hauling things around but also comfortable enough for all my kids. Not sure what I'm going to do when baby #4 comes around. All the kids are so young right now so they need car seats. Who knows, maybe get another Suburban.

Closed on our sale on Wednesday and on the purchase on Friday. Here are some pics of where we are right now. House was purchased from the original owner two years ago. Before that, it was not updated since 1978, when it was built. The new owners re-did the living room, dining room, guest bath (except new sink and countertop), and added a built-in the the sunroom, which was for them (and will be for us) a playroom. Spoiler We are re-doing the kitchen and breakfast nook, and master bed and bath. We opened up 5 foot entryway from the breakfast room to the living room to match an identical entry from the dining room to the living room. We are also scraping the remaining popcorn in the 2/3rds of the house where it remained, and are having all the wallpaper removed. We also completed the fencing around the yard for our dogs. Spoiler Once that work is all done, aside from replacing door hardware, electrical outlets, ceiling fans, and etc., we will also eventually put in durable flooring in the playroom and replace the carpeting in the bedrooms. We will also eventually replace the countertop and sink in the guest bath. Also, the landscaping will probably need a total overhaul.
Our first home's kitchen had wallpaper that must have been affixed with superglue. We tried every solution and removal hack known to man and it still only came off in like 1/2 inch steps. It was fucking miserable. Good luck!
Yeah, we're hiring everything that's being done immediately out. My wife is almost 7 months pregnant, I'm not looking to drag this work up to (or past) her due date. The stuff for the future will probably all be DIY.
Someone tell me about sprinkler systems. I just got my front yard soil and seeded and it doesn't look like it's going to rain for a few more days. Ive been out there with a few 100 foot hoses and some oscillating sprinklers but it's getting old quick moving these around.
