That sure seems high. I would try to find some mexican off craigslist who will probably do it for a 1/3 of that price. I found a good guy on craigslist that I've had do a few projects for me. Latest one was 1,000 sq ft of popcorn ceilings that he scraped, primed, and painted for $1,000.
I never have either but we're doing a home renovation mortgage so we're doing as much as we can up front. After that estimate though I'll paint the damn thing myself.
New construction about 1800 sq ft with a cathedral ceiling in the living room. Our builder told us it would be about $10k to do all walls and wood trim. My wife and I did the whole thing ourselves pretty much. It sucked but felt good saving that kind of money. The life saver for me was buying a 2 foot roller for the ceilings and being able to use our builders scaffolding. We also didn't have to worry about floors and things since it was during construction.
In my 1,500 SF 3b/2b reno/addition, the painting was ~$5,500 for both interior and exterior including supplies and labor.
I'll pay whatever for painting because I refuse to do it after painting my mom's house as punishment for drugs or whatever
I fucking hate painting. But I refuse to pay someone to do something that requires little to no skill so I do it and I bitch nonstop while saying this is the last time I'm painting.
Our interior was $2000, not trim or ceiling though. Our whole exterior, including trim was $2200 years ago. 2600 sq foot house with huge ceiling heights. Included labor and supplies on both.
We have a 1,600 sq ft Victorian. To do standard exterior only, 5-6 years ago we received a quote of $4k. Your quote seems reasonable. NOPE Just saw the first line item for interior. Thought the $3,800 was the total. FUCK THAT SHIT
I know a lot of people asking about roombas in here, saw a deal on this one for $350 (normally $500), Roomba 860. https://slickdeals.net/f/10516380-i...ot-vacuum-cleaner-silver-349-99-free-shipping
Anyone know any good deals on refrigerators? I've just started browsing for a new one, but the old one is on the outs.
I think i'm going to be pushing for side by side, and she will be wanting french doors, so to answer you, i'm open to anything, just has to be stainless steel to fit the current kitchen style.
no clue if this is any good but $500 for a 65" 4k roku tv. https://slickdeals.net/f/10517196-r...-class-4k-2160p-roku-smart-led-tv-65r8-499-99
I bought this in april and I love it https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-26-...water-stainless-steel/8474095.p?skuId=8474095
Yep my 3 year old loves them, we have 3 over our island and she likes them to be pink green and blue.
Just replaced ours. Hated the old French door style and we went with side by side. So far like it much better and this design has more room compared to our old one.
The deep freezer style of the French doors doesnt make any sense to me appeal wise. I like the fridge part ok but not more than I don't want my regular freezer to be a deep freezer. And definitely not enough to pay an extra 700 minimum or so
I thought about getting that one with the door in door. Was my original plan. But then I read about the latching mechanism fucking up on that part of it and I didn't really need it so I skipped it. Really nice fridge
The latching is more user error than anything. They didn't have the one like you posted in store or we probably would have settled on it, and we needed it now.
My buying was pretty much the opposite. I had seen the one you got in numerous stores and read about it and wasn't too worried about the latching... Then when I went to buy it the one I bought was there and significantly cheaper with no potential latching issues and I was sold Either way I'm happy
Yes. Those are the ones. I bought 2 for over the island. Will probably buy more when I complete my office.
We just got this one when we bought a full set of appliances. Just got installed this morning so can't really give you a review. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/kitche...rator-stainless-steel/5867313.p?skuId=5867313 IMO your decision order should be depth, width, finish, brand, cost, design. We actually sold a year old fridge on craigslist that came with the house. Main reason was because of the depth. By the time you get to the brand you should have a side by side and french door option. You can make a pretty good price comparison at that point. This is a great time to buy. You should be able to get a really good deal.
Prepare to have your life changed forever. I'm out of control over here. Counted nearly 50 wifi devices in the house and the vast majority are lifx bulbs; BR30's, A19's, light strips, etc. I need an intervention bad. Some recs for a new user... 1.) Upgrade your router. These lights will drive you insane with the dropped connections on a normal router. I've already upgraded twice and will probably be using a commercial router or mesh system soon at my current rate. Reset for the bulbs is on/off light switch 5x. 2.) Speaking of, start training your family to stop using the light switch. These lights don't work when the switch is off. 3.) Make sure you have a home asst. (Alexa, Google home, whatever). These lights go to another level when you can speak to them. 4.) Integrate your lights with other smart devices... Program the lights to flash when Ring doorbell rings or blink red when Nest detects CO or blue when it is raining. IFTTT is great for a bunch of novelty items. I hit a new low when last week...I ordered a Domino's pizza just to see if my program worked ordering my lights to turn on just before my pizza arrived, and they did. I didn't even want the pizza. 5.) Use the scenes this fall/winter for your kids, especially Halloween and Holly/Xmas. Also in 2019 when the next GoT season starts use their light theme each Sunday. 6.) The light strips are very cool. Put my first behind a TV recently and it looks incredible. Also in the process of replacing the under cabinet lighting with strips as well.
Finally got around to replicating this project in a wall niche in the living room. This one was a bitch because of its height and the arc at the very top was difficult to measure. I used a cardboard template, wasn't sure how else to do it. That curve came out a little rough but I am happy with the rest. Definitely not comfortable climbing 15-20 feet on a ladder. Next projects are finishing my office, finishing a redo of front yard landscaping and putting in a sink with shelving in the laundry room.
Getting ready to replace the kitchen sink, p-trap, and some piping to the sink tonight. I'm going to tie some pex piping back into some galvanized piping instead of sweating some copper. It doesn't sound like a huge project but I know how these things go for me.....
