Good news: Water heater installed. Bad news: 13k to repair foundation to sell house. The 9k bid was to do the worst part, not enough repair to fix to sell.
i remember a few months back some folks ITT tried the ultrasonic pest repellent things, how have they been working over time for those that have them? Thinking about trying them.
The property itself might have been the best non-lakefront piece of property in DFW. The house needs an additional $150k in renovations on top of the $140k that they claim to have already spent. And I’d end up ripping out the kitchen remodel that they did and start from scratch. Deciding if I want to tackle this project. Leaning no at the moment.
Mine worked out pretty well. Had a lot fewer insects this summer in an area that had quite a few the year prior to having it plugged in.
Literally no change for me. I actually have had a bunch of fucking spiders take up residence right under the damn device.
I have them all throughout my house and have had a very good response. We are bug free x 1 year almost without exception. It's pretty incredible the turnaround we had. Now I have them in nearly every room. Try this one: Nearly 500 reviews, perfect 5 star rating, 60 day money back guarantee. Good luck and report back please.
It could theoretically cover a 1200 sqft room if you have one but not a 1200 sqft house with multiple rooms because the ultrasonic waves don't pass through walls. Ideally you want the outlet to be 2-3 ft off the ground with good visibility throughout the room. Easier said than done.
I seriously envision old man Smith sitting in the Dr office on the table with chest pains and shortness of breath and lechnerd holding up a finger saying hold that thought while he googles ultrasonic roach traps
Not sure if this site is worth a shit but https://www.fakespot.com/product/ul...ach-indoor-use-with-on-off-night-light-6-pack
Might be a coincidence but I have one in my kitchen/main living room area. Someone unplugged it and had two big ass cockroaches in those rooms. Hadn't seen any before and none since plugging it back in.
I have these two Russian guys finishing our concrete floors. It's really starting to come together and look really good. I'll post pictures when i'm done of the whole process, but it's been a great experience so far.
Substantially done with the work. Still waiting on hardware for the bathroom to be delivered, but otherwise everything is done. Of course, it seems my dishwasher is defective, so we're still washing dishes by hand until we can get that sorted. The quoted post has the "before" pictures of the kitchen/breakfast nook and master bath and vanity. I don't have pictures of the master bedroom, but we went ahead had the wallpaper addressed in that room and repainted it, all the other bedrooms, and the hallway. So the whole interior has been repainted in the last 18 months, dating to the prior owners.
So I am debating mounting the new TV I am going to get on the wall. Anyone have any suggestions for hiding the cables? I have used a couple cover/adapters in the past but I was curious what most were doing these days.
Did you just punch a hole in the drywall and drop the cables? Did you run a power outlet up to the tv? It's been a while since I have done one so and I have never ran power to a new outlet so I was curious. Thanks again.
and put a plate... Something like this one of these and pick up this to make life easier going forward It is not up to code to run the power cord in the wall...but just don't put a screw threw it and you'll be fine
They also have kits now that have a up to code power cord built in between the lower and upper outlets.
Swapped out a receptacle in our guest bathroom for a tamper-resistant (childproof) GFCI, and installed a dimmer switch in our master bath to control the recessed lights. Also, got up into the attic and took stock of the mounting options for three ceiling fans I intend to hang. Two were fine, but in the third location I installed a hanging bracket. Being in the attic sucks.
Currently in the middle of a sod vs seed decision. Would probably use Fescue due to time of year. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
If you can afford it definitely go with sod. Seeding is so hit or miss it's just worth the extra cost to put down sod iyam.
Just seeded myself. Cultivated the whole fucking thing and put down a mix of fescue and annual rye, covered lightly in wheat straw. Currently overseeding with the same mix to fill in the thin spots. Think I am going to overseed again in Spring with Kentucky 31 to fill in where the rye dies back
AC safe-t switch keeps tripping. Fucking annoyed. Poured bleach down the drain line and it does some out the other end outside. Have to shop vac the line multiple times a day. Fuck.
Shooting a fast stream of water from my garden hose up the drain line did the trick. No shit. Some nasty gunk came out. Can’t believe I fixed something. first statement sounds sexual
now put a Clorox bleach toilet tablet in the pan of the air handling unit and it will help keep that stuff from building up again
Sonos released a beta version of Alexa compatibility today, finally. It seems to be working pretty well. If you have sonos throughout the house and echo/dots throughout the house you can play just about any song/genre by voice alone anywhere in the house. Tonight while putting my baby to sleep in his room I said “Alexa, play lullabies in baby room” and then 30 minutes later cancelled the music from my room after he had fallen asleep, all by voice. You can coordinate rooms and speakers via the sonos and Alexa apps. Current Alexa commands include play “x” song/genre/album/station, stop, pause, skip track, increase/decrease volume.
the images amazon has up with the gen2 echo seem to indicate it will have this ability i wonder if it will require sonos speakers, or just multiple echo devices
So I’ve had this bidet attachment for about two months now. It has literally changed how I poo. I no longer go at work because I don’t want to feel like a dirty heathen when I’m done. Doesn’t hurt saving on TP either 10/10 will Buy again
Getting quotes this week on replacing our vinyl siding with hardiplank. Anybody have any experience with hardiplank?
Just on the new install side in commercial applications, but never heard many complaints. Only issue we have seen is with the installation of the nail/screw hole filler caulking.
It is buggy for me. Can you get it to play Spotify on your Sonos? The only thing it is playing for me is Amazon music or stations tune-in. Sometimes it wants to play on the echo dot speakers and sometimes on Sonos. Edit: I think I found the answer. It isn't supported yet. Spoiler Ask Alexa to play music from these featured music services. Or pause, resume, skip or change the volume with all services available. Look out for improvements—like fully supported voice control for Spotify, coming later this year.
Durable product, I helped a friend install this on the exterior of his home, I like the look much better than vinyl siding once painted.
