NineteenNine it also appears you’ll need to lay some sod in that backyard. Fortunately for you, I have a sod guy I can hook you up with. lechnerd
we have a gas stove, part of me thinks this is why my wife wanted the house so bad not gonna lie it is pretty neat
After having gas while growing up and in the first house I purchased, I don't think I can ever go to electric.
it was almost a deal-breaker for us on this house, but there's gas in the house (for heat) and it's pier and beam so it SHOULD be easy enough to get gas to the kitchen. famous last words, I know.
Ha, I made that mistake this year, but not as bad. I only did a single pallet of St Augustine, needed to cover an area where shade had thinned out the grass and then followed it up by getting a truck bed full of mulch to lay as well. I wasn't right for a week after that.
Have had both but now have an electric induction cooktop. Best cooking I have ever had. Would recommend over gas.
Got the Honeywell smart thermostat today. Went to install it an there was not a 24v common wire running from my air handler to the thermostat location as my old thermostat was battery powered. Got out my volt meter and found a constant 24 volt source, spent 5 mins in the attic dropping a new wire and problem solved. Baby steps in the smart home revolution I guess.
Also, I have a confession...... I laid sod myself two weeks ago. Pallet and a half. About 700-800 sq ft. Came in rolls(rectangles you guys keep saying) and was really quite easy. I did have everything tilled and prepped beforehand though. Those rolls probably weight 50-75 pounds depending on how much water they have in them at the moment. Laying sod is super rewarding, because it’s instant beauty. Just went with fescue. Not really a grass snob.
Just saying. More precise than gas, wayyyy faster than gas, and more efficient than gas. I had to see it to believe it because I loved gas.
Hi we are the same. Ours was already in the house when we got it. Been meaning to replace it out and have a gas line ran, but I've been lazy as shit. I hate this damn stove, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna change it now that we're looking at other houses.
You should all at least look at induction with an open mind. Can boil a full pot of water in 45-60 seconds. Easy cleanup because the cooktop doesn't get as hot. I have a ge cafe and wife and I love it.
A multimeter has a volt meter, amp meter and ohm meter all bundled in one (sometimes with other stuff). Where I used to work, we were in the habit of saying we used the "x" meter when we were measuring for "x" electrical info. I did indeed use a multimeter but on the voltmeter function as opposed to the ammeter or ohmmeter. Could be a regional thing, could be that I just happened to sign on to a place that had a batshit supervisor, idk. After 10 years that shit is stuck in my vernacular.
Just found out my rebates are being processed for our bonus rooms. Wall insulation rebate is 75% of the material cost up to $400 rebate. Mini split multi unit ductless system is another $275. I wasn’t expecting anything and almost didn’t even send it in. This was through our electric complaint in PA. Make sure you check if you upgrade anything on your house to energy efficient as there may be a rebate.
I pulled up two holly bushes today. One was a massive bastard. Had to hack the roots with an ax then pulled it out with my truck. Nice excuse to buy a chain saw though.
I need to step away from the computer...... just ordered a couple of the lifx bulbs, 3 tp link smart outlets, and an outdoor smart outlet for the christmas lights
Philips Hue Lightstrips on sale: http://bgr.com/2017/11/11/philips-hue-lightstrip-amazon-discount-lowest-price/
Someone posted a new echo from Amazon that has some of the bridges/Hubs built into the echo itself. Sounds like you can use some of the Hue functions with the new echo plus and no bridge: https://www.google.com/amp/www.pock...ures-you-won-t-get-from-the-echo-plus.amphtml
So we’re trying to get the dining room ready for Thanksgiving. Built my brick wall, fancy new table, fine art from French Quarter street vendors, etc. Wife says she will handle the rug. Comes home today with a rug that could easily double as the center piece at a daycare. It has a hot pink border. We put it down, it’s bad. She says “it looks better when you put the table and chairs on it”. Well no shit, because you are covering it up. Unless I want a big fight it sounds like it’s staying.
I see it a lot, so I’m not necessarily knocking it, but I don’t understand the desire to put a rug under a dining room table. Maybe I’m simple or seeing the world through the eyes of a parent with a 3 year old but I’d rather clean up spills from a wood floor. I like the look of the wall and the wood floor.
Whole new perspective on your grout work in one of those pics. Rustic is a bona fide style choice, pal.
