Everyone knows that cats hate water. That's probably why that vindictive little asshole keeps knocking over your cup. With this in mind, the only solution is to fight fire with fire, or rather, fight water with water. Next to your cup of water, keep a 5 gallon bucket of water. Every time that little asshole cat knocks over your cup, you take that 5 gallon bucket of water and douse that little shithead until it's soaked to the bone to show that you're the boss. It won't do much for the water stains on your wood floor, but it'll sure teach that little fucker a lesson, and asserting your dominance is what's really important here. Or you could, you know, get a rug or a cup with a lid, but who wants simple solutions? Rube Goldberg would be a nobody if he came up with simple solutions.
I’m glad us men are all on the same page here. Didn’t realize we still had a female poster on the board. Alas, we have Merica
Wife sold everything on Facebook market place or something. We were in a 4 bed house and only used my pickup and a 6’x12’ trailer to move, sold almost everything. It was awesome
my wife is great at buying stuff off there, but apparently terrible at selling see: my garage.
Best part is you can check the people out before they come to your home and decide if you even want to deal with them. Kind of like a background check.
There’s a flying squirrel that stops by my bird feeder on my deck a few nights a week. His name is Rocky. Sometimes he bring his girlfriend, Rockette. I have petted them a few times. Fuck regular squirrels though.
Yeah if you put up cheap, functioning stuff on the internet it goes fucking nuts lol. We do that to friends on craigslist with their cars if they do something to deserve it and it locks their phone up with messages and calls until you take it down
Heads up: I did my taxes pretty early (didn’t submit them) and saw that the mortgage insurance deduction was no longer a thing as of 2017. Tax code was recently updated to allow it again. TurboTax didn’t even have an option to enter it a month ago.
Good news: shit is selling like hot cakes on Facebook marketplace. Made $900 today. Bad news: after tomorrow I won’t have anything to sit on or sleep on.
My wife says when she runs our washing machine water starts accumulating in our backyard. I’m in Michigan for business so I cannot investigate for myself. What is happening?
So it's this Or with the age of the house it's possible you have a dedicated drain line for the laundry room that just dumps into the back yard somewhere that is busted and it's not your main
To expand on my guess, not knowing the vicinity of the trees to the main drain, I'd guess the roots got into it. I'd suggest calling a plumber obviously, they'll prob. snake the main drain, let you know what you're looking at and hopefully be able to spot fix it with a bit of a hole in the backyard. Honestly don't know what else it could be, and I'm not a plumbing expert, just making a somewhat educated guess.
Unfortunately not, I’ve been gone all week and it’s happened twice both when she was doing laundry. We have some large bushes in the immediate vicinity but no trees. I doubt it’s the main line as it only happens when the washing machine runs. I would think dedicated line.
are you on septic? could also be something as simple as a cleanout on that line has either lost its cap, or the sun rotted out the cap and it got stepped on or hit by the dog or something and is just letting the water flow out that way
Yes I’m on septic and it’s quite possible this is my Great Dane’s fault. That’s what I’ve been hoping for all along
Not uncommon in houses of that age to have run the washing machine drain out separately. Sometimes into an undergound gravel filled pit, sometimes just "over the bank". Around here they are called straight pipes. I wouldn't freak out just yet. If you have a plumber, ask them to look into it. Do not get your municipality involved if you can avoid it. Last time we dealt with one, it required excavation, new gravel, and some drainfield housing. Buidling/zoning/health department will want it tied into septic, which MIGHT be considerably more of an undertaking. Just have your plumber scope it out first.
could be a full/clogged septic tank or field that drains fast enough for most stuff but cant keep up with the volume of the washer
Another big day selling shit. Only have my couches, washer/dryer, a buffet and tv stand left as far as furniture goes. Other than that, just a lot of knickknack stuff. Thanks for the tip thunderstruck saved me from having to deal with a moving sale.
happened at my parents house when I was a teenager. The drain for the washing machine, it's on line, collapsed and the area between the collapse and washing machine just couldnt keep up with the slope of the yard. Rebuilt line and no problems.
I was not looking forward to it. Now I’ve basically sold everything. Going to have like 3 plastic bins of shit and that’s it.
Any plumbing experts on here? Found out this morning that our toilet, washing machine, and drain for our ice maker are all on the same line. There must be a clog downstream, because the washing machine and toilet are both backing up into the ice maker drain, flooding into our kitchen. Tried plunging the toilet and that didn’t help. Have a six foot snake that I tried down the toilet and the ice maker drain, and that didn’t do anything either. Plumber can’t be here until 8am tomorrow. Anything I should try in the meantime?
