Too bad people gave up on this show. Been very solid season. Just hope somehow Alison gets the bullet she deserves.
I've found it to a little slower in places but that's only because there was more action in previous years. I hope the season concludes at the end instead of a cliffhanger leading into next year.
Looks like it's averaging in the 1.4m range which is good enough to be renewed for a premium cable show. Also like this season. Might have a little to do with the fact that I was so confused as to why they'd move the show to Germany but it's definitely felt realistic especially with Paris happening. Also need to see Allison die a horrific death. In a perfect world I think we'd see Saul, Carrie and Quinn enjoying an elegant meal in the room at the barracks with the gas chamber as Allison is being gassed inside.
I could see her death resulting from some action she takes in an attempt to redeem herself... or from a horrible cause of syphilis.
They mentioned the attacks in Paris. I'm drawing a blank but did something happen awhile back? No chance they referenced the events of last month is there? Are they thinking of the Charlie Hebdo killings?
I had the same reaction. Allison said "especially after Paris" and I was immediately thinking hold the fuck up. There has to have been something else right? Odd/eerie coincidence either way.
I'm thinking she stays on. She convinces them she was working the commie and not the other way around. Unless the Iraqi from Amsterdam re appears.
Her story has some huge gaping holes in it. There's a blog on the WSJ site where they talk to an intelligence expert and he breaks down what is done well and realistic and what's "Hollywood" as he puts it. How many episodes are left? You can already see Carrie is going to defy the doctors orders to get the info from Quin, almost kill him in the meantime, but look like the hero to save the attack.

I do enjoy it but some of this stuff is roll your eyes stupid. A window that can be opened like that in an intelligence building? No guard to watch him? No extra police at the train station? After Conrad is killed that don't assign new detail to Allison? And how did this doctor get the drop on Conrad, put a bullet in his head but only nick Allison? Can't wait for next week!

So Germany knows a terrorist attack is coming and not a single visible security person is at the train statiion? I don't care what Allison told them (which wasn't all that long ago anyway) to not have security deployed in the most high traffic areas is a joke after the threat. For Saul to not even mention it to anyone as a precaution is also a joke. Also why was Carrie worrying about her cellphone instead of chasing or even yelling that an attack was imminent? Nobody seemed very phased by people chaining doors either.
Yeah, I'm with you. Some Muslim terrorists announce an imminent threat by the end of a day and then some Muslim men are chaining a train station doors and people are acting like its a normal daily activity. I'm ok with some suspension of disbelief but that one is a bit much.
I'll have to re watch but the sequence of shootings in the doctors office, would an investigation be able to figure out what Allison did? Were the right bullets from the right gun in the right bodies?
I was thinking about this right after I watched it. She definitely killed Conrad with his own weapon, which fits her story. Then she kills the Dr. with her weapon. Still fitting her story. But, I feel like she put Conrads gun back down by him. And hers by the doctor. At work, so cant rewatch right now...
I figure she was doing enough to kill the doctor and buy herself some time, but that's it. Wouldn't even the proximity of the gun flush against her shoulder be a problem in an investigation?
I thought about that, too. But I never saw anyone taking a sample from her shoulder. There would be residue on her shoulder, much like there would be residue on her hand from shooting the weapon. If that were to come into play, I would think they would explicitly show the test taking place. Especially since she escaped now
I think she knew that she needed only enough plausibility of the story to get her out of the immediate situation and then she would be escorted to safety by Russians soon thereafter. By the time the investigation is complete, she's long gone.
Right, I think it is one of the reasons she ran from the hospital. That and the whole lying to the CIA about the attack location
Yeah. I assume the doctor that said he had to pack her wound rather than surgery was a Russian intelligence guy. Someone says something to the effect of "what happened to the other doctor" at the beginning of that scene. Another plot hole is that Saul is not skeptical of her enough to stay right there and not allow her to bolt. But, I guess he's been blind re: her the entire season.
Special Case File: Allison’s Staged Crime Scene Most people have seen enough “CSI” to know that this is total nonsense. Anyone with basic knowledge of crime scenes or medicine would realize that her wound was a contact wound; the gun was directly up against her body. You see the blood spatter from Conrad against the wall, not directly from Dr. Aziz in the chair. Also, there’s not a lot of safe places in the body where you can be shot and survive, especially from short range. Yes, she found a nice place in her shoulder, but it’s not only about missing organs. There are a lot of, especially in your shoulder, arteries there – there are a lot of places from where you can bleed out very quickly. I always hate in movies and tv how they have people running/walking with their pistols at full arms length. Not only is it unrealistic to run with your arms stretched out in front of you, it's also very difficult to maintain control of your weapon and easy for someone to knock the weapon out of your hand if they're hiding behind a corner or something.
So I haven't been following the show since they killed off Brody/I got rid of Showtime. Should I get back into it?
Yes, gotten a lot better since that happened. The last two seasons have been really good. It's still a bit hokey at times, but the annoying Carrie/Brody and Brody's family stuff is gone

Bitch got off easy IMO. She needed that Sarin death. Will be interesting to see which choices Carrie makes with Quinn and with CIA/foundation. Overall, great season. Best since season 1 I guess.
Agreed. When it started with ending the terror plot in the first five minutes i was skeptical. Then they end Quin and Allison in the same ep? Thought the season needed one more ep to draw out the Allison story. Two mins of Saul talking to Ivan about skiing and Jackson Hole and then 30 seconds of a car getting shot up was a little to short for my liking.
that terror plot ending that simply kind of pissed me off... they had like 3 drums of the gas but the only place they were going to disperse it was that one tunnel? Their was like 8 dudes in the cell and all packed packs for the event but only two were actually involved? Kind of lame- but ohh well
Also, Quin was basically my favorite character ever on this show (other than Brody's wife) and I hate for him to be off the show. Saul was a little bitch all year. It will be interesting to see where they go, but I would expect the terror to lead the show back to US soil for the next season.
If you liked Quinn, read some of Vince Flynn's novels with Mitch Rapp as the main character. There are a lot of parallels between Quinn and Rapp, and I'm somewhat convinced that Quinn's character was based on Rapp.
