in an NIL and transfer era like now, there is no reason to start at UVA if you are a blue chip recruit. take a check and if things don’t work, rebound transfer maybe
Dak Twitty in the 2 deep now, as well as Kam Robinson. seeing Malachi Fields was leading the ACC in receptions and then remembering how many times Colandrea overthrew or missed him against UMD, lol. Malachi could have another half-dozen catches with an accurate passer.
Colandrea threw to him a couple times, one was a back shoulder throw and Fields turned the wrong way and one time it got picked, where I felt if they had more experience neither would have been incomplete/picked.
So on 3rd &1 on the fringe of the red zone, gain less than a yard, deliberate and ultimately send the FG team on rather than sneak it. Then burn a timeout, just to send the field goal team back out there. I don’t get that at all
I saw “mike London without the recruiting” and it’s hard to disagree sigh NC state is good but they handed it to the Hoos and we refused to take it
this team does every loser-team trope in the book of "loser shit for losing teams to do to make sure they lose" - I just dont see how getting "guys for the system" will change that now that we bring in the 13th best ACC class every year
There’s something depressing but also humorous that after a game like that, Hoos have such a familiar reference point from a decade ago Bronco had his own issues but his teams beating themselves was typically not one of them, esp after year 1 Ironically W&M is a really well coached team from top to bottom, even after losing Vincent Brown who got the A&T job and was a longtime London asst
I have been checked out on the season but after turning this one on and seeing Brennan, I can’t lie, I really wanted this one. It really is hard to find positives here. London was a mess but I could see what he was trying to do. I don’t even know what this team is supposed to be.
A more talented version of this team is exactly what I was referencing above— something the Hoos are all too familiar with If you beat yourselves with dumb shit, having a bigger OL or faster secondary, or whatever position upgrades the portal could bring you, would be really negligible on the scoreboard
On the positive front, you don’t have to waste your Saturday this week. I’m stuck pretending to have faith we might win against Marshall.
I was up there…it was pretty pitiful way to lose. But even more disappointed in the crowd. I know it was a Friday and the rain and all that….but it’s gotten pitiful. Maybe 25,000…they publicly announced like double that which is laughable
Forgot to mention, I saw Beekman in the parking lot at the NC State game. He was tossing the pig skin with some kids, chatting with ppl. Seemed like a good dude
Putting aside how ridiculous that tweet is, I do feel like our fans need to chill on Twitter. It’s like a mob in every preseason ranking tweeted out. Program has been only medium-good since the championship and, while I agree things are looking up, it’s mostly based on projections for unproven players.
Going full basketball mode. Does this look right? In decreasing order of anticipated playing time, starters in bold. PG: Beekman / Harris Wing: McKneely / Rohde / Bond / Murray / Gertrude Forward: Minor / Dunn / Groves / Buchanan Redshirt: Bliss / Robinson Really feels like we have a super deep squad this year, though very young. There is a lot of lineup flexibility which should be fun. Predicting the wing rotation feels impossible. Murray feels like the type of guy who Tony is just going to play a ton of even if he doesn't have the ceiling of Bond or Gertrude. Buchanan may get a lot more playing time in certain matchups. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
agreed though I could see Monday starting instead of Rohde depending on how things shake out re: shooting
When was the last time we had a first year big look physically ready to compete like Buchanan does? He comes off kinda Duke cocky too.
Yeah I think the second wing spot is totally up in the air. Could see it being any of Rohde, Murray, Bond, or even Harris, Dunn, or Groves in spots
