I did that too. It's just not fun taking forever to kill these machines over and over for a part that might not drop. That is definitely the biggest flaw with the game. There is already plenty of content. No need to make that grind that bad.
I would gladly take a patch to increase drops. It’s single player, for fuck sake. There is no competitive advantage to be had and most of your players don’t enjoy this level of grind.
I didn’t upgrade stuff for the longest time because I wanted to save parts in case I needed them later. Near the end game I gave up trying to upgrade legendary stuff and just used upgraded rare items
I didn't bother upgrading the legendary armor. Takes too much time hunting. I also got tired of looking for greenshine slabs.
Rebel camp: I shoot a guard in the head. 3 other guards see it and charge me. I shoot another in the head and drop him. The other 2 rush me but I hide. 15 seconds later "it must have been nothing." They walk away.
About 60% through and I'm still loving this game so much. Story is fantastic so far. Currently working my way exploring west until I get to Spoiler Faro's tomb. I think these are some of the best side quests in any game I've ever played. There is one dealing with Dementia that got me in the feels real good. So many great stories and well written characters. Everything feels fully fleshed out. I'm hoping it finishes strong, and if it does then this is easily in my Top 5 all time. The combat is so much better in this one, because the melee flows so well with all of the other weapons. If I had one major complaint it would be the outdated and cluttered maps and map markers. If this game let you organically discover all of these things like Elden Ring, then it would be in the argument for greatest of all time, imo. The exploration in Elden Ring puts it at a clear #1 for me. I like games that treat me like an adult that doesn't need my hand held for the full length of a game.
I’m only like 4 hours into ER (obviously not enough time to form any opinion on anything but the superficial), but it was jarring to me how much better HFW looks.
I haven’t played either yet but the ER exploration has me on the ropes. I like to point my direction to where I’m going and find stuff along the way
So this one ended up just like the first one for me. Great gameplay, loved it for a bit and then just was too repetitive for me after awhile. Probably got 75% then forgot about it. Same with the first one. Not to take away from the game because it’s a great game, but just got stale. Took me a lot of hours to get to stale though, so worth the money.
Has there been any word on when an expansion will come? I figure towards the end of the summer or early fall
Only thing I’ve seen was something called Horizon: Call of the Mountain, which says it’s a VR experience
Love this game but the grind for parts for legendary gear seems dumb. Other slight complaint is the arena seems dumb at higher difficulties.
They dropped a patch for HFW today that put in NG+, Extra Hard difficulty, extra weapons and trophies, and outfit transmogging
Also, I got super busy and dropped the game after 6 or so hours, just getting back into it now. This morning I made it to the GAIA backup... when that door opened and those four walked in, I was total Jackie Chan face for like five minutes. What in the actual fuck is going on?!?
I do too, but that was the laaaaaaaast thing I expected to walk through that door, completely blew my mind. They looked like Star Trek villains or some shit
Oh i have no doubt about that, my son has already beaten it and he's just laughing at me freaking out over it. I have much faith in Guerilla, not worried about that at all.
so after you complete the three parallel main missions, you're probably about 70% done with the main story.
Also read somewhere that people from The Boys and What We Do in the Shadows are involved in this show. Anthony Starr as Ted Faro would be fantastic
Finally finished the game last night. Just an absolutely awesome experience that improves on the first in nearly every way.
I’m at a hockey tournament in Denver and all I can think of is damn Aloy was standing right over there
