i was telling my wife that i wish this was a book that she could read. she just doesn't do games
Just purchased and am currently downloading. Did I make the right choice? How is the game holding up since it was released? Also got some funk to burn while I play.
Top 5 game this generation. Excellent choice
That's good to know. Used to play the shit out of video games in middle school and college and they have really turned into a small hobby anymore. It's like pulling teeth to buy a game these days because I'm afraid I won't ever finish them and am wasting money.
If you do the game justice and explore everywhere and do everything this game is a masterpiece, but if you do the main quests you are doing yourself a great disservice.
just about to do the first cauldron (sigma), i am excite
My fight against the Stormbird
Just bought the unlimited fast travel pack
Man oh man, each main quest (assuming I'm really close to the end) has a twist.
Level 43, gonna try to finish up finding all the special items before I go on. Gotta try to get that platinum before Tuesday!
now that i've finished the game, i've watched some videos on how to kill some of the machines. i've realized i played the game sooooooooo much differently than everyone else.
first off, i think i used 2 mounts the entire game. i ran and fast traveled everywhere. never attacked anyone on a mount either.
second, i never used the ropecaster. for the glinthawks i primarily used arrows.
third, i didn't use the wire traps. i finally started using the sling around the last 3 missions to kill things. but, everything was arrows for me for pretty much the entire game.
one other thing i forgot to add. i was constantly jumping during fights. i mean. the split second i landed, i was in the air again with another arrow. i never fought in real time. it was always slowed down. i saw videos of people close up fighting thunderjaw, but i was always like 100 feet away jumping and firing.
got the special armor from the power cores... good god, it's amazing.
Sounds like I need to upload my how not to fight a thunderjaw at 3 am fight.
that was pretty good. faster than my thunderjaw fights by far. i swear i would spend 15-20 minutes a fight easy.
Shadow rope caster with shadow tearblaster just unfair for those machines
Finally unlocked the ancient armor
Wait til you use it
it almost doesnt seem fair, lol.
Finally beat it. Definitely cracked my all time top 10 list
Sunk almost 60 hours of my life into this game. 2nd longest game I've ever played.
Just started, and all I find myself doing is running around hunting. I'm loving it. Haven't even went to the proving grounds, or whatever it's called
Edit: Also playing on very hard. Can't have BlazingRebel one-up me
I'm 70 hours in, level 43, and on the main quest "Maker's End" which i'm guessing is less than half way through.
i love her
Erend looks like Jason Sudeikis
15 hrs in and my main quests are Revenge of the Nora and Seeker at the gates. Taking my sweet time with everything. Also, just had my first battle with fire bellow backs (3 of them). Really enjoyed sneaking around, taking them out one by one.
Oh, and I haven't fast travelled yet. I'm going to see how far I can make it in the game before I feel the need to do it. There's just so much you can do on the way to where you want to go.
yeah. i didn't fast travel for quite a while. there are so many resources. i think i have around 1500 wood still
i'm not sure i can play more until my hud issues are fixed
man this game is good, not very far into but enjoying it very much
Just finished the main story line and at about 80% completion. Awesome game and loved the story overall. Question on the final post credit scene. Obviously it is setting up for a DLC or sequel but what are Sylen's intentions? I saw where some have said it is Ted Faros reincarnated who wants a reboot once again. Seems weird that he seeks all this knowledge but the machine that he is taking HADES to is the one that produces mass machines.
Ok just started up, about to do the proving. Are there any crafting items I absolutely shouldn't sell or any upgrades/weapons I should be trying to get?
You should be good right now. I'd absolutely save up for any of the shadow weapons
Is there any real reason to horde resources? Or should I be selling more of the shit I loot to make money?
Some stuff goes quick later on but I do sell a lot of resources
Depends on what arrows or ammo you use the most honestly.
Fuck off on this hunting challenge where you have to get 10 grazers in 90 seconds. Best time was 1:37, had to just move on.
What armor is everyone using?
Ancient armor is amazing.
Aced that my first time
That's in the cave right? Don't have the power cells to get in there
Find them it is beyond worth it
Stalkers are not to be trifled with
Can you kill machines with tearblast arrows?
So whats the point? To disable their attacks?
Tears away armor/components to leave them more vulnerable to other attacks. Also quickly removes mounted heavy weapons so you can pick them up and use them. Get used to switching between arrow types and weapons in the bigger machine fights
plus they make a really awesome sound.
I haven't crossed into Meridian yet so the toughest fight I've had was with a stalker. I picked up a heavy weapon off of a bandit though in a camp. Didn't really like it though.
heavy weapons are really useful once you start facing the tough robots.
also agree with others, get used to switching arrows, bombs, traps, ect.
You shall see just trust me
