All i know about AirBnB's are that they are somebody else's house who's living there while you're there. It's an invasion of privacy and fucking expensive.
My parents went to one of those not so long ago. They choose hotels these days. As i mentioned earlier we went overseas together and we had a mixture of hotels, roadhouses, and airbnb's. Put a line through the airbnb's and roadhouses because they were terrible accommodation. Odd check ins as well, expensive as fuck and weirder rules that you could imagine. Best hotel we stayed at was literally 10 minutes walking distance from Disneyland in Aniheim. I had my own room that was next to my parents room. All one level as well. The first Airbnb we stayed at in Hawaii was actually rotten.
Rarely, and easy to avoid. No one here is talking about that kind of setup. If you don’t know what you’re talking about, it’s easy to just not post.
That should really help your accommodation issue when you want to travel somewhere other than the beach, too!
a friend gave me her corporate friends and family rate so i’m 100% team hotel. $200 rooms for $59 make it unbeatable
Apparently staying here for our 10 person leadership meeting https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/760818...earch_id=4eeb8c05-11dd-4a5b-b8b5-e34228243823
Would be awesome for a large group of friends. Make sure you’re the first one to assert dominance in the kitchen. I recommend firing up the blender for a smoothie while in your boxers on the first morning.
I promise I’m not making fun of you, but with those dimensions I bet those trade show Blue Deltas you got are the most custom they’ve ever done.
An airbnb for a work function is an hr catastrophe. I don't care what the gender and orientation makeup are - somebody's either doing some harassing or some fucking. Likely both.
My first thought too....... I'm sure it will be fine because I'm sure there will be zero drinking involved
I’ve had a department leadership retreat every year for the last 5 years. We always rent a house and have had some great ones in places like Palm Springs, Tahoe, and Costa Rica. I only rent places where everyone has their own bathroom. No harassing and no fucking so far. 10-12 people and 4-5 females in the group.
The company that I worked for prior to my current job was a smallish family owned business. They would throw a company party every year at a country club that had dinner, entertainment, awards, and a hosted bar. After a couple of DUIs happened they decided that it would be a better idea to have the party in the conference room at a hotel and offer discounted rooms so that everyone could stay after the party. After said party several couples that didn’t arrive together were seen checking into rooms. Then a few divorces occurred as a result and the company stopped the annual party altogether.
We’ve done it a lot before Banff, Breck, Palm Springs as well. We’re the opposite with 4 guys. I’m the youngest guy at 43 so there is zero hooking up at ours too.
We’ve always had issues with inappropriate behavior at company wide events like sales conferences. Haven’t had one in a minute but years ago I got in the elevator with a guy from another team that was taking a 65+ hooker up to his room.
Had no clue companies/departments rented out houses for retreats. Something about that feels wrong to me. Feel like I need the anonymity of checking into my room on my own time.
This is OT but I had a buddy who worked for the Florida securities regulator and they would make him share a hotel room with his male colleague when they traveled. Like 2 beds in one room type of deal. Never understood how that was even legal
I'd demand a private bathroom over a private bedroom. I don't want to share a shitting location that close to my co-workers. Office bathrooms at least give you some anonymity. I don't need to wait on Jill from HR's stank to clear before I take a poop
That impersonation account's been banned. So how about shove your thoughts up your fucking arse and grow the fuck up.
Horrible idea all around. The sheer amount of liability involved with getting a corporate fucking AirBnB purchase for a leadership retreat Idk, maybe I'm around more degenerates than the average.
I'm now remembering when I rented an Airbnb in the desert near Palm Springs with an ex around 6 years ago, It was a very awesome house, middle of nowhere, dirt road/gravel drive, super modern, indoor pool/outdoor jacuzzi. I do remember we made a nice dinner the second night that involved tons of pots and pans and the cleaning instructions were extremely detailed. Like it was nice that we were able cook but it was like 25 bullet points of "cleaner x goes on the oven door", "cleaner y goes on the staub bowls", "do not put x in the dishwasher", and yes it did have a "do the laundry" line. Then when we were leaving the cleaning lady, and property owner were there to make sure we left on time and did all the chores I guess? Was pretty cool to be like hey there guy thanks for letting us fuck in your bed and then swiffer your living room!
