That’s 3 times so far that the leadoff guy has gotten on in 1 run games and awful hitters at the plate (Dubon last night, Maldy and Meyers tonight) and Dusty hasn’t called for a bunt where they ultimately hit into a DP
Thanks, saw the map yesterday with some of the street closures downs there and thought about ubering but will now have 3 kids with me. Going to text a buddy with some parking connections shortly for advice
It appeared that Dusty was going for the split with that lineup. It’s really crazy that they’re not going to have an off day until Friday, but still pretty surprised that Yordan didn’t pinch hit in the 9th as the tying run at the plate
I’m more concerned about the bullpen than the lineup. Obviously it’s early but neither have been good.
Altuve out until June and tbh I’ll be pretty stunned if brantley is anywhere near what he was two years ago. Shoulder surgery is rough and he’s old. A GM would’ve talked crane out of giving him that contract good news is that the farm system is pretty much barren!
We need brantley to be an above average hitter which he should be. If he can provide that and altuve comes back with no setbacks that’s a stew gentlemen.
Yeah I’m willing to give diaz the benefit of the doubt a little bit since he hit in AAA. The others are replacement level or below Should’ve just let Luhnow and hinch sit out a year and come back
I'm optimistic about Brantley, he'll at least be better than some of the guys playing now, but also know for a fact that Click wouldn't have given him that deal. My closest friend from work knows him, as their sons are on the same team at West U Little League for the second straight season, and he sent me these texts Friday night. The only other thing Click said about Brantley is that he's a "gem of a guy." Spoiler: Hope he has something left
Crane signed Brantley to a 12m deal and gave 3 year contracts to a reliever whose only had one good year in the big leagues and a 36 year old third baseman I don’t know much about Dana brown, but I really hope he isn’t just here to rubber stamp him crane moves because if that’s the case we will be back to 100 Los seasons within a couple of years
Brantley seems like he could stand up there and slap 200 singles into left field a season for five more years if he were will info to sacrifice power.
