Washington Redskins @Redskins 1m1 minute ago TRADE ALERT: #Redskins send the 167th pick to the New Orleans Saints for their 187th & a sixth-round pick in 2016.
That trade is fucking Gross. So we trade back 20 and only got a 6th back from next years draft? That seems like an awful trade. Now have 3 picks in the top 11 of the 6th
Well stupid me. We got a couple picks and all these guys are still available. Have 5/6 and 11 coming up. Can we get some DBs? Fuck. Take 3 and hope 1 doesn't suck
"Doesn't check all of the boxes we want out of our safeties, but I gave him a draftable grade. He's the type of player that DB coaches hate on paper but love on the field." -- NFC North scout
Arkansas is our new Nebraska, that Cornhusker run worked out oh so well. I know nothing about Jarrett except that he was a beast vs Ohio State and made me cry.
He's more of an in the box type safety. I'm not sure we have anyone that can play FS on our roster right now.
Tevin Mitchel | , Arkansas Height: 6-0 Weight: 183 Long, wiry cornerback with excellent athletic testing but never seemed to put it together. With more time and coaching, he could develop into a player.
PLAYER ANALYSIS Average size and athletic traits with an unimpressive resume, but he does everything well.
He's not a NFL WR and can't get open. Great guy for special teams though and very high character, Urban named him our MVP this year. Last guy on the roster type if he makes the team.
Mitchel had a very good SR year. Almost died when we lost to ULM a few years ago with a neck stinger and a concussion that almost killed him. Very good nickel guy and improved his tackling under Robb Smith. Had a very good FR and SR year, and was dogshit his SO and died his Jr year. He's got some very good measurable, but I'm a bit surprised he got drafted. Thats 3 hogs in the last 3 years for the 'Skins (Robert Thomas last year).
Either the kid from Oregon murdered someone or I completely overvalued his stock. He should have been gone 3 rounds ago.
Don't hate our draft, not in love with it. Wish we were able to go DB higher and fill that need after filling our OL/Pass Rusher need quickly. B ish grade, IMO.
Kyshoen has been my favorite player since he stepped on the field at Tech, glad he is with the skins. That will give me a little more interest leading into the year.
I really liked our draft overall. Except for our 3rd round pick. They definitely drafted from inside they trenches and that was what I hoped. Wish they would have drafted Doran Grant in the 3rd. The Steelers got a good one.
agree, the 7 round center wont make the 53 but a lot of 7th rounders don't so no big deal. And having watched Matt Jones for 3 years, I think he will find a spot in this league and play for a long time. However, it will only be a spot duty/career backup type deal and we aren't in the position to take career backups in the 3rd round. Hope I'm wrong.
Jay Gruden on the Arky boys, pretty much exactly what I said about them: Inside linebacker Martrell Spaight (Arkansas) – Fifth round, 141st overall “Very productive player, a one-year [starter] that did some good things in college as a linebacker. Physical linebacker. Made a ton of plays in the games that he played. Very exciting, likes to hit. You can see that. He doesn’t back down from any contact. He’s a player to be reckoned with. I promise you that.” Cornerback Tevin Mitchel (Arkansas) – Sixth round, 182ndoverall “We did a lot of work on Tevin. He had an excellent pro day and has excellent measurable. He’s 6-foot tall. He was relegated mostly to playing nickel at Arkansas. But I think with the measurables that he has, there’s a role for him. He can run, and did some good things at the nickel position.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...redskins-happy-with-haul-of-2015-draft-picks/
Below is the list of reported undrafted rookie free agents that have signed with the Redskins: Reggie Ball, WR, San Diego Chris Bonner, QB, CSU-Pueblo Takoby Cofield, OT, Duke Brey Cook, OT, Arkansas Grant Donovan, LS, Louisville Quinton Dunbar, WR, Florida Connor Halliday, QB, Washington State Jacquise Lockett, RB, Kentucky State Devin Mahina, TE, BYU Terrance Plummer, ILB, UCF I really like Plummer. Hope he makes it.
PFF hated our first 3 picks. With them on Matt Jones for sure giving it a F. Thought Preston Smith was a solid pick, needed Scherff but still a bit of a reach. Supposedly his pass blocking wasn't great last year but it was Iowa and the most predictable offense in CFB.
DeSean Jackson predicts Redskins will be ‘the team to beat’ in the NFC East “Well if you want to be political and say on paper, I think all the ESPN guys and all the bloggers will probably say the Dallas Cowboys,” Jackson told Kevin Sheehan. “But in my eyes, I already think we’re going to surprise a lot of people this year. I’ll say once again, I’m excited about the new additions that [have] come in. Really, we just have to kind of build a camaraderie. So once the season starts and we’re ahead full speed, I think we’re gonna surprise a lot of people, and a lot of people are really gonna be saying, ‘Wow, those guys are pretty good.’ So once the season starts — I’m not gonna put too much pressure on us — but I think we’ll be the team to beat this year.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...ins-will-be-the-team-to-beat-in-the-nfc-east/
Martrell Spaight really hope he does big things for y'all You guys also cut former hog Brey Cook, which is a good thing because he's awful. Should have moved to the interior line and he could have had a decent college and possibly pro career, but insists on playing outside and just doesn't have the feet for it.
