Recently got Hulu and started Handmaid's Tale. There's a ton of content on there and a lot of it is exclusive. Just wondered if we could have a thread that mirrored the Netflix thread for recs, etc..... They are offering one month free right now if anyone else is interested. I think we are through 6 episodes of HT and it's fantastic so far. Any other must watch shows on there?
Handmaid’s Tale goes downhill every season. I stopped after season 2 because season 3 is apparently junk
I haven’t watched much of the Hulu originals as I’ve mostly used it to watched licensed content as they seem to be taking over that licensed content throne from Netflix. I could go on and on about the licensed content on there I like. Though they have really stepped up the quantity of their original productions in the last couple years as they didn’t really commit to originals until 2016 and mostly punted on introducing new stuff in 2017. And looks like they are going to be ramping it up even more in the coming years with all that Disney money and commitment they have. But the ones I have watched and enjoyed are below. Even less than I thought it was. The Path 11.22.63 Casual Ones that look like they will be pretty good but I haven’t gotten to yet Looming Tower Castle Rock Looking for Alaska Little Fires Everywhere Devs High Fidelity Dollface Catch-22 And I’ve got Normal People on my calendar to watch when it premieres end of the month
Normal People, comes out April 29, has an 88 rating on Metacritic. That's must-watch territory folks.
If I learned anything from the cord cutting experience it’s that making a menu is not technologically easy.
Normal People is nice. Music director must be a big synth pop fan. Also, Daisy Edgar-Jones is my new crush
Hulu has a really good adult animation selection King of the Hill South Park Futurama Archer Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law (need live TV) Frisky Dingo (need live TV) Rick and Morty The Venture Bros Family Guy Bob's Burgers Cowboy Bebop Moral Orel they've also got institutions like Seinfeld, It's Always Sunny, Arrested Development and The X-Files. Workaholics and Nathan for You are supposed to be funny and seem to have big followings season one of Fargo was excellent. Castle Rock looks like it'd be good for Stephen King fans my dad uses my login and seems to watch Taxi, M*A*S*H, Cheers and now The Sopranos, which just popped up recently from what I can tell (same with The Wire). I pretty much just end up watching It's Always Sunny episodes over and over, I actually signed up for Hulu back when it moved over from Netflix
Read about Deutschland 83 a few years ago and never got around to it, but found out yesterday that it’s on Hulu. It’s about East/West German spies in the 80s. Obviously in German, but worthwhile if you’re into historical period dramas and heavy 80s nostalgia.
The last days of Phil Hartman was really good. I didn’t know much about him Although I hated how the end parts made his murdering wife seem like a good person
