After the 2008 season I rode 18 hours with extended family to watch two young rookie head coaches face off in the Gator Bowl. Nebraska won an exciting game after coming back from a 21-10 third quarter deficit and making a goal line stand in the final minutes. A more optimistic version of myself thought maybe this was the start of something special. In a way, I was right. Dabo Swinney would go on to win five ACC championships and two national championships, culminating in the first ever 15-0 team in modern college football. They capped it off by dominating what was previously thought to be one of the three best teams of all-time. Bo would go on to win zero conference championships, say "fuck all of you" to his own fan base, become addicted to Scooter's vanilla milk, get fired and eventually drive an FCS team to a 4-7 record, including being on the wrong end of the biggest D1 upset of the 2018 season. Sometimes all you can say is gbr and #firetommills
Was tmb around in 2008? Sure would love to go back and read some of thos gatorbowl poasts cuz i wasnt on here lol
His Scooters order was whole milk with like 5 pumps of vanilla syrup and some sugar packets. Forget who bestowed this knowledge on us but it’s too true.
God it seems like eons ago that tommy bowden corched lil ol clemson U Hope we can get our team worth a dang so DONU and LOCU can go toe to toe in a game that means something
May of 2009, still a few of the OG's around. Some pop their head up in the thread every now and then.
By being an OG. Hard to believe this place has been around for 10 years. Edit: See you’ve been around from the start. So
I was here v early. Then hound Ip banned me. Then I rose from the ashes. I’ve got numerous trophy points but not the og tag I covet.
- College is, what, 40-50% recruiting, 30% management and 20-30% coaching?? In the modern era. - NFL is mostly coaching and management...most of the ‘recruiting’ is scouting a much smaller pool and that’s done by the GM and scouts mostly and negotiating deals. A guy like KK hates recruiting but seems to be really good at the x’s and o’s and appears to enjoy managing the players. It doesn’t mean it will work, but it’s the same game that uses 2 completely different strategies to manage, especially in the modern era.
The NFL and the college game are vastly different now compared to even 20 years ago. The innovative minds work their way to the top, took some time, but the Jeff Fischer’s of the world are becoming obsolete.
App idea: Gambling app that works similar to Coinbase. It allows the bookie to always have even action. You can charge less juice and capture market share. It was also allow the lines to move naturally. If I want the spread for last nights game at +6 Clemson, I can park $500 at +6 and wait for people to buy my action up.
Bo did almost (1 second away) win a conference title and subsequently break a bunch of drywall at the *then new Cowboys stadium with his older brother Has to count for something, right?
When I found Marcus had a key to admin powers, I knew Dean and Mike were running quite the tight ship over there.
you'd think all that innovative x's and o's, player mgmt would have netted him a winning record in the Big XII one of the years he was there. Just one. The NFL's retarded.

I remember meandering over here ages ago from the Rivals recruiting board. I started an account under my old username and lurked for a while. I mostly remember finding myself in something called the "porn board" that had some passwords and such.
The player gap in college>>>>>the nfl. The NFL can be stupid, but the players are legit and the narrative that’s it’s not entertaining continues to be one of the weirdest things in this thread.
I love the Catholic church. The Pacific Northwest is terrible. Good grammar is the best thing. Osmond only produces felons.
One of the favorite things I ever heard about the Chiefs was someone calling the stadium Camarohead. Absolutely perfect.
