Simple as this for me; Our lack of depth is catching up with us in these second games during week because we have zero legs. Our shots, finishing at rim, etc. looks horrible. Especially when you play an aggressive defense (against one and the fact we hang our hats on playing one). Now that Nana and Harris are healthy, Miles HAS TO play them minutes. It might cost us a game, but if you want to do anything during the stretch run, I don’t think you have a choice.
While we never run a good offense with Timmy, they are settling for shots because they have no legs. It’s James Harden Light right now. It’s why he disappears (and will again) during playoffs. It’s also why Jordan and Lebron are complete freaks of nature with how much they played and their ability to play better in postseason.
Couldn’t get any shots to fall inside. Settled too much tonight. Just another notch on Michigan State’s belt tonight of holding a B1G opponent under 37% shooting. Need to get one back @ Rutgers Monday. But need to rest starters. Or Nana & Amir need to start putting in a lot more minutes magically. All the starters gonna die by mid Feb.
Nana doesn't bring a ton if his outside shot isn't falling, also a poor defender. It's kind of strange because you see flashes of him being a crazy good athlete.
His athleticism can unfortunately only be used via slashing cause he can’t dribble well, which sucks. But if he could even just hit 1 shot per game. For some reason I thought I remembered people talking about him being a good defender last year on scout team but apparent that was false :(
Yeah I feel like last year he didn’t get minutes because of his D. Then this year people seemed to mention his scout team D so who knows.
