You were bad this year, you were a good hitting team every other year under him and 2 of the 4 years you finished in top 25 in overall offense in the NCAA. I’m not saying he will be successful, but when you cherry pick one bad year (the same with your coach) after finishing with a CWS, a regional birth, and postseason play the previous 4 years makes me laugh. A&M has the highest of expectations with the lowest overall achievements of any school in the country. Notre Dame and Michigan laugh at the jizz jars lack of history.
For further proof of typical Aggie expecting the moon while having a history that’s more of a North Korean rocket. - Childress has 6 regional championships (Aggie had 4 all-time before him) - 6 CWS appearances (2 with Childress) - 22 appearances in NCAA tourney before Childress in 2006, 13 since that time, or literally every year since 2007 - conference tourney champs before Rob? 2 Since Rob? 4 Should I keep going? This is Aggie football 2.0.
Anybody want to point to some KC nightlife close to the Marriott downtown that won’t make me break the bank? Been here for a few days for the Advanced Placement read and I fly back to DFW on Tuesday. Good places to drink would be a plus.
Sounds like Seely is staying at A&M. http://www.gobearkats.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=19900&ATCLID=209605798
Have they confirmed Christy is going to be the pitching coach? Is it possible the 3rd AC/unpaid guy has that experience?
I'm confused I thought people were like "Bolt would be a home-run" pun intended and now they're all burgunwhelmed?
I think it's more confusion since Bolt doesn't really fit the criteria that Moos said he would look for in a coach. E.g. previous Power 5 head coaching experience. Especially since Bolt was apparently the only person even interviewed for the job. I'm guessing a lot of people also bought into the numerous Childress rumors that were floating around over the last week.
IMO this is the biggest thing. I also think there's a group of fans that just were waiting to cry about something, since the Frost and Hoiberg hires went so well. The third thing is, whenever there is a coaching change it seems like fans that normally wouldnt care/watch Baseball or Basketball come out of the wood work and start paying attention. Combine that with the fact NU fans seem to naturally overrate the status of the programs here. NU baseball had like less than a decade of success in the last 45 years, but because we have a somewhat nice stadium, and fans that show up to games when NU is playing in the B10 tourney....people act like any coach would be dying to come here if we write them a check, and unfortunately its not the case.
Who tf would call Bolt a monster hire? Revisionist history. He very well could be a decent coach and I hope he is but it's very underwhelming considering Frost and Hoiberg and the money we seem to be willing to spend. Maybe Childress and those like him told us to lose their number and he was the only willing dude left.
For me personally I never said Bolt would be a monster hire, I just figured he’d be the guy given the fact he was a former Husk and in line for a HC spot soon plus I didn’t think Childress or O’Connor type guys were even realistic until the insiders started saying Childress was a done deal. So based on all of that I was in the mindset of “Bolt would be worth a shot” I know you weren’t referring to me in your post but just my thought process
Ok I'm sorry but I'm just drunk and annoyed enough to comment on this shit. 1) our OL this entire game. 2) particularly @ 6:47. If a qb throws a pass then the rules of catching a football apply to everyone, yes. So there has to be control and possession made before it can count for yardage/possession/TD/whatever. Watching this ruling pissed me the fuck off because Martinez throws it and half ass volleyball catch/spikes it for an incompletion. Then they call it a full catch and throw in the same motion. God fucking dammit, then clarify what a catch is because I've seen TDs not count because there wasn't a complete follow through for the entire catch. Rod Snodgrass is the worst referee there ever was and B1G is on par with Pac 12 and most meteorologists for dumbest motherfucks that get paid for being wrong. 3) Bunch was bad at times but also held his own quite a bit. I think he's a decent backup. 4) Wyatt deserves to fucking play. He had one play that went negative yards against a Michigan defense that fucked our world up consistently. Let little big Woodhead give it a shot.
