Nothing crazy here, but kind of cool they put blue on the outline of the number since I’m 99% sure we wore blue jerseys in the first ever game at Memorial. I’m sure people won’t realize that and will love it!
I guess I could have read the article to confirm the blue uniform thing. The blue stroke around the numbers, meanwhile, is a nod to the blue jerseys the Cornhuskers wore in the first game at Memorial Stadium – a 24-0 win over Oklahoma on Oct. 13, 1923 – as a courtesy to the Sooners, who also wear a shade of red. A similar situation unfolded at Nebraska Field in 1920, when the Cornhuskers were forced to wear their blue freshman jerseys because South Dakota took the field in red, as white road jerseys didn’t become the norm until the 1940-50s.
Rhule is doing the right thing by saying this roster is now my guys whilst also recognizing that if he recruits well enough, hopefully this roster of 3-4 win misfits won't be his for long
Another fun fact is Dear Old Nebraska U/There is No Place Like Nebraska, written in 1924, contains the lyrics “where they’re all true blue,” in reference to the blue jerseys worn the year prior. It is a nice touch to the alternates this year. I’m considering it a “courtesy” to Jayskers for the skullfucking they received on the basketball court.
I dont think our talent is *that* bad.. (our depth is). This roster has been very very close to winning a lot or games over the past couple of years, we just had a coach that helped us lose them and an extremely weak team mentally that expected the worst at all times. Hopefully those two things can be fixed over a year or two. Regardless, the talent influx is nice to see, these guys are grinders.
I heard we are well over the 85 max scholarships. I think I heard we at around 100. Spring ball should be a make or break situation for around 15 players. I’m sure the transfer portal will be filling up with Huskers soon. I do have the hope that HCMR(hule) helps those guys find new homes. While they weren’t good enough for us, they might be good enough for another program.
Here’s the teams I see our transfers ending up at: La Tech Northern Iowa Charlotte Western Kentucky Florida A&M Kansas (some kicker I’ve never heard of) Rice Michigan Syracuse Then 3 dudes who I’ve never heard of that show as TBD lol
First video looks clumsy with his ball skills. Second video looks smooth with ball skills and adds a little banty by tearing his helmet off. This concludes my expert film breakdown. gbr
Considering this is written by Sean Callahan, it’s safe to assume the exact opposite of the below is the truth.
Our D isn’t actually THAT bad most games but it’s insane how little we turn that into transition points.
Doesn’t matter who the coach or AD is, it seems like a guarantee that Nebraska will have a couple guys have a season ending injury in every sport.
Wilcher is such a liability on the defensive end that even if he was an average shooter it wouldn’t be worth having him on the court
They’re really good at keeping it just slightly out of reach. Not close enough you can imagine them winning but not blown out to where you can walk away.
I need to see these Wilcher practice highlights because how is he better than any walk on? Christ he sucks.
Texted DirtBall snd a couple others today. Wilcher has the slowest feet of any division 1 power 5 guard I’ve ever seen. The 9-10 year olds I help coach do a better job of shuffling their feet.
I don’t disagree with you but I really don’t see it happening this year. I’m thinking Trev’s looking for any reason to avoid a second major buyout within a year.
