I for one would be happy to see a religious debate play out but I recognize it’s a sensitive subject go big red
He really does. And we thought he was gonna be a really nice developmental guy and blow up with some physical maturity. Then Hollinger slotted him in the 1st round this week, and it looks like he'll be the next Jordan Poole...gone before we ever really see what he is.
I know as much about religion as IowaHuskerFan3 knows about spaghetti. Religion scares me to no end. Nothing good ever comes from blindly believing bullshit. The Mormon tale is extra bullshitty.
What’s the deal with these three all being recognized at the same time? Have we not retired jerseys before or did we just forget about this honor for a decade?
I'm probably missing someone from way back when, but those are the only ones that should be retired for a while imo
I posted this in the home maintenance thread, but I'm super excited so sharing here as well. I got a warning because the clusia (hedge) in my front yard was too tall and blocked too much view of an intersection. I had a landscaping company come out to move the hedge and install some along the side yard in the back.... That turned into us doing a little more landscaping in the back on the fence by our neighbors who have a really shitty house. Then we decided to rip out our old wood deck and put in travertine (we already had it around the pool but had a deck and travertine) Then astroturf on the side where our yard was dying from playing frisbee with the dogs. More landscaping More astroturf Lighting Now a ton of money later it's going to be done on Monday Spoiler: Pics of it almost finished
That looks super nice for sure. So do you have turf everywhere then, or still have any real grass to mess with somewhere in the front?
We will have real grass in the front. Our side yard is really big and they haven't gotten the rest of the astroturf up to the gate yet. I forgot to get a pic of that area. On the left side of our driveway I want to put in pavers with the shape of a basketball court (half) and on the right it'll be grass with landscaping. I have to wait until I'm not broke before doing that though.
I assume because back in the 90s everyone had a basketball hoop at their house, but my backyard came with a concrete “court” aka poured into the shape of the lane and circle up top. There was a hoop in the ground too but that wild windstorm a couple years ago ripped it out. I’ve been wanting to throw some pavers down on top of that area, but not sure how big of an issue it will be for drainage etc. Would be a nice/easy way to have a second area besides my deck.
Yeah you’d expect Nebraska to throw some 1953 guy a bone just because it’s how we do things it seems but glad they didn’t. These are the 3 that should have it, and the bar is now super high to be the 4th player. I was looking up some of their stats and all of them put up numbers but Komine’s are just ridiculous. B12 Freshman of the year 2x B12 POY Most career starts (59) Most career IP (431…next is 386.2) Most career Ws (41…next is 37) Most career CGs (18) Most career Ks at 510…the next is 298 lol Had 159 Ks in 2000, 157 in 2001 which are first and second best for a season. Then 115 in 2002 (5th best). For reference Joba is #3 at 130
Also when looking at the baseball record books. The most errors in a season, the 1st and 2nd most both happened in 1985. Was shocked to see that team went 45-24.
'sgoin on in dat shed, husk? Can the sounds of Ratt ever be heard quite loudly from there late on a school night?
Van Horn rode Komine’s arm into the ground. Pretty sure Komine has more complete games than all of Nebraska’s pitchers combined since he graduated.
Give me a staff of Dorn, Joba, Duensing, and the two Iowa boys to shut shit down with Jensen and Watson.
He pitched 7 innings in the Stanford Super Regional, a week after getting a line drive off the jaw and needing surgery. He was so good. He was like 5’8 too
Damn I’m sorry man. I’ve been contemplating getting pet insurance for just that reason. I have a Border Collie and I worry about him tearing his ACLs with how much he runs and jumps.
Purple shed is what I keep my mower and pool stuff in. In one of the pics you can see a 10x10 pad I poured in the opposite corner. I'm going to build a new shed (In the process of building it right now-you can see the frame on the ground) back there then tear the purple one down. The goal is to build a pool house in the purple shed corner so my mom can live with us when we have young kids.
I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to give up mowing because if nothing else it’s like the only time I’m guaranteed peace and quiet these days.
Same. I hate those first couple of mows in March/April and by the time October rolls around, I’m ready to be done but generally speaking, I do some of my best thinking while cutting the grass. However, I also love the dormancy break and I would absolutely pay someone if I lived in the south and would have to do it year round otherwise.
I do my thoughts in the shower. Mowing is for mind numbing quiet. Headphones in, music on, brain goes quiet. It's amazing me time.
My kids will have to pry my lawn mower and snow blower outta my hands on the way to the memory care unit imo.
