Yuck. Makes me worry when those guys would hitch their wagon to Norvell who’d, I would have to think, be fired for a losing season next year.
We voluntarily put ourselves through this. Starting to wonder if the emotional investment is worth it anymore
I honestly don’t care if any of them leave. We’ll find people to replace them. Maybe they’ll suck or maybe they’ll be better. gbr
Eh, I don’t know if I’d go that far but I understand why people would be anxious about the changes. I just don’t get that way anymore given past experiences and how college coaching is a revolving door (especially with coordinators/support staff).
They gone. Dick move from Knighton. Ditching his ex coach and the guy that gave him his coaching opportunities. Going to a fucking sinking ship with a guy he’s known for 2 years.
White and Knighton know that the defense is going to take a step back next year to loss of veteran personnel and two of them best interior linemen in the country. Their star and value will never be higher than right now.
Yeah whatever bye. Rhule's the common denominator of putting together the great defenses he's had at all his stops. Didn't love either of their work this year. Illinois, UCLA, USC, Indiana gameplans were fuckin garbage. Buncha DL players seemed like they regressed, and promising as Potroast's recruiting is, none of the DL currently in the rotation are here because of him.
I cannot believe that Norvell is getting a chance to rebuild FSU. Why would Knighton want to associate with that?
Shoving Leonhard's defense up Wisconsin's fat, white dickhole would be more than my heart could bear.
The look on Hunter Kohler's idiot Wisconsin face. I need it. Any other good assistant coaches around that played at UW in the 00s we can add for fun?
I don’t have any ill will towards White, he’s just doing what he thinks will better his career. Knighton/Cooper can get fucked. Sorry you couldn’t help but fuck everything on campus Cooper. Both of them getting butthurt and turning their back on their former coach and the guy who they owe their coaching careers too is a dick move. Have fun in the FCS after Norvell gets shit canned next year.
At this point I don’t care enough one way or another to be honest, just hope butler doesn’t become dc
Has Coop done that? I’ve got a lot of hate in my heart today so I’m happy to bury him if there’s even a sliver of reason
I really hope Rhule didn’t burn some bridges when he brought Butler in and maybe gave him too much say out of the gates. Just seems crazy to lose Knighton who’s been his guy forever. I’m sure there are reasons for it but hope this isn’t a thing we look back on in a few years and think that was the first sign.
Think Knighton almost left after Evan Cooper was let go. After this year I think it's ok to try something else. Defense lost the sauce from last year
Or, we played a bunch of shitty offenses two years ago that were even worse than they typically are. This year, those teams were better on that side of the ball. Normal variance is a thing, too.
Hilarious for our fans to be much more upset about this than our coaches probably are. Who tf knows what’s going on behind the scenes and also we are a team that got a 6th win for the first time in 8 years. If you are letting the career advancement decisions of ASSISTANT football coaches for a 6 win team and irrelevant program have any sort of negative affect on your day/life you need to seriously re-evaluate. Maybe take some time off sports and rebuild your “entertainment” intake from the ground up. 10-15 years ago sure I would probably trick myself into thinking this mattered for the sake of getting lathered up about something but my god being “pissed” about this would be too embarrassing to bear. if we were a good team that fell just short in the playoffs or ccg maybe I could see the case for caring at all. But we had an extremely easy schedule and barely snuck into a bowl game. We lack defensive talent and are at least a year away from being a year away from being a 10 win team. cliffs: grow up Peter Pan
It’ll be butler as DC and we will continue to battle for 6 wins. Focus on volleyball, baseball, and basketball they’re better for your mental health imo
I don’t think anyone in here is pissed. I think it’s more the fact that yes we’re 6-6 but the defense won us way more games than they lost, and it seemed like there was something to hang our hat on there. Now we have WOAT special teams, WOAT offense (and no word on Dana) and the defense that kept things feeling close could be done. In the scheme of things we’re so far away from anything mattering but it’s not that crazy for fans to not be celebrating the departure.
No need to celebrate. but it’s so far from actually mattering I just have trouble wasting the bandwidth trying to project what gets worse and why because for all you or I know our defense is better. We randomly find a Randy Gregory difference maker, maybe our d can be less hard because offense presumably gets better as raiola approaches the end of his teenage years…
Got a text Butler was leaving thought he meant the coach. This one sucks. Doesn’t seem like a good sign T-Knight is staying.
It seems like this sort of change is very likely to be a net negative. You don't typically see this sort of upheaval from people who've demonstrated competence and then things get better. But on the other hand whatever at this point.
So far doing some heavy lifting obviously. T Knight is like a dad to James Williams and who knows where the other guys loyalties lie. Always been fascinated about the HC/AC balance for players, not eager to find out how it breaks in house
Perfect opportunity to pluck Jeff Jamrog away from Midland and get him back on the staff where he belongs!
I guess a good development for me was that it was fun this year to relish in the fun parts. It I expect the dumb and shitty ones. Like I was sore about the Iowa game for a minute but then moved on. so I get the highs but don’t care as much about the lows gbr
