On a positive note, Martinez didn’t play scared and looked much improved from last year. Hopefully that continues.

Was curious to see how he did so looked at the box score. He was 18/29 for 169 yards 1TD/1INT. Had 9 runs for 24 (with a 24 yard TD). Anyways according to ESPN, MSU had 7 turnovers and Rutgers had 3 lol too bad we don’t play either of them.
This year doesn't matter. It didn't matter before COVID wrecked it either. Seeing the trenches improve and having something to build on was all this year was ever going to be.

We clearly have some WR depth issues. When do we try baptism by fire with Betts, Brown, Fleming, etc? We need to find a way to make people fear our receivers outside of Wandale and Warner.
Also, a friend of mine brought up a point.. do you think maybe Manning had a sort of Randy Gregory "suspension" for today?
Doesn't really jive. Given what we rolled out today, he could be smoking a blunt in the middle of practice and we should still play him.
Pretty sure Manning is battling some mental health type issues. Between that and being banged up he hasn’t been practicing. He’s at practice but I think most of his time right now is spent getting back into game shape/conditioning.
I would guess Betts and Manning make a bigger impact the second half of the season but we’ll see them sooner than later. Even if it’s a “hey here’s 15 plays to remember” type thing.
That was my thought, more competitive games (I think) combined with them hopefully having their feet wet by then.
I think he’s just anxious, and him tweeting that makes me believe he thinks if we had him out there we would’ve only lost by 28
I dont know whats going on with the boy but I hope our fans, for once, leave him alone on social media and let him and the coaches work out the issues privately. If he is going through some mental health issues I do not think it will do any good to make him feel any more under a spotlight than he already is.
