When Wisconsin's football program announced a seven-day shutdown of the program on Wednesday, the program referenced pending tests. The results from those tests came in on Thursday and produced three more positive cases of COVID-19, two staff members and one player. The Badgers now have 16 active cases of COVID-19 within the program. Thursday night's press release also added clarity on both the team and head coach Paul Chryst's return. The team could return to practice as early as Wednesday Nov. 4, but that's not a definitive timeline. Chryst, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, is under a 10-day isolation period per Big Ten protocol and can't return to the team until Saturday Nov. 7, the day Wisconsin is scheduled to host Purdue.
