Really interesting to see if decriminalization of marijuana passes in South Dakota tomorrow. Public opinion is close to 50/50 but I’m sure likely voters will swing it No. The tax revenue projected is bananas, and of course the exact same governor and party preaching personal liberty, individual body choice and freedom are suddenly very vocal and adamant about the evils of youths doing weed drugs.
definitely not Nate Gerry out SD way has some real nice lookin' senior tape. Looks to be able to tackle little white libertarians quite well and that may just translate to being able to tackle Mitch Leidner someday
Dope is bad! Probably a stupid question, but where would the tax revenue come from if it’s only decriminalized?
Bought my house 4 years ago for $320,000. Neighbor just sold their house (without a pool in Florida) for $479,000 hours after going onto the market. Their house is 3/2 and mine is 4/2 w new pool. I'm grateful to have bought when we did. I can't imagine paying $500k+ for my house.
I think I misspoke because I'm not "hip" to these fancy illicit substances, it's going to be legalized if Amendment A passes. I used the wrong term.
So my vote helped bring some of the gambling dollars back to our state AND as a 2nd district voter (maybe) kicked Trump out of the White House?!? Some silver lining in this shit year.
Honestly this dude does baseball stuff mostly which I hate, but he's really funny and his 2 minute breakdowns are great.
There were ~200k votes against the removal of the slavery exception (30% against vs 70% for removal). My hope is that people just didn't read/understand the way it was written...but I'm guessing that can't explain all of that vote and again I'm dead inside.
I voted for all 3 gambling bills, but still feel like I’ll end up gambling at real casinos in CB more than I will want to hangout Horseman's Park. Sorry guys.
I do not like this development for our teenagers that sometimes come in to the toilet store. Not great bob.
Legalization in Colorado and Washington didn’t really change YOUTH usage much. ODD and ADHD kids are gonna use and find it regardless.
Correct. But you have to admit, however, that studies are still few and the whole notion of legalized cannabis is still a relatively novel thing (at least for certain states). I think it shifts attitudes with kids and how their parents view it, which can be damaging in more than a few ways off the top of my head. Not to mention how it will affect the adult population, but that’s not within the scope of my initial comment. I think it’s too flippant to say they’ll find it anyways if they want it. They’ll now definitely find it and likely in higher concentrations which is where we see so much psychosis. I’ll add that this is a positive development in regards to reducing waste in the legal system for the punitive aspects of older laws (and its downstream effects on people’s lives).
More substance abuse is always bad for mental and physical health, period. that being said, the (limited) data so far about legalization hasn’t really pointed to many crazy unintended consequences.
If weed isn’t illegal, there will be less hardos who are attracted to weed simply because it’s illegal. Also, knowing dozens, maybe hundreds of people throughout my life who have used marijuana to varying degrees I can think of exactly one who potentially had a real adverse affect, but he also has BPD so not sure if it’s fair to say he went off the deep end because of weed, or if he was going off the deep end with or without weed. #Anecdote
taking weed literally killed former posters OHW RogerSterling and huskerwiz and yet some of you are in here celebrating it?
Im reasonably comfortable with the idea of recreational. I hate the idea of states allowing ‘medicinal’ use.
I would have voted for Sleepy Joe if I knew I was getting street handies! Instead I voted for Trump so the socialism doesn't kill my children!
You do realize that Horseman's Park will likely either build on a brand new casino themselves or just sell out to someone like Caesar's and they'll build a new facility.
Hopefully that’s the case, but I’ll be interested to see what some of these places actually look like.
Would be cool if they did something like Rivers Casino in Des Planes outside Chicago. Similar aesthetic to Aria in Vegas, but much, much smaller. It’s nice, smoke free, doesn’t make you feel like you are dirty for being there, not too gaudy. Feel like a similar design would work for NE.
My least favorite patients are early 20s daily weed smokers who are paranoid and anxious AF and won't entertain for a second that it's the weed.
