lol yeah it's probably one of the biggest "myths" in baseball. TBH the only reason I know the actual rule is some umpire told me when I was playing 1B in high school and fans were freaking out over a close call.

I just Googled it and apparently there's two contradictory rules. One that says the runner has to beat the throw and one that says the throw has to beat the runner. Seems dumb as fuck to have that gray area

 

I mean earlier in the game he threw a strike to home which should’ve been an out, however Roskam is ass.

Overall I honestly believe Erstad is a decent to good coach. But he just can’t get good enough talent here. Not sure if that’s a him problem or a being in the Big Ten problem. The overaigning restraints in the conference vs the SEC/Big 12 definitely don’t help though.

 

I want to say earlier in the week they said the team BA is like the worst since the 70s or something.

There is no “tie” rule. The runner and ball never reach at the EXACT same time that’s impossible. Whichever is first is accurate.
