1. Who knows who runs tweeter ‘counts? 2. The tweet is right. 3. You literally dress, or at least allow, your child to wear Iowa gear, have an Iowa flag in your garage, attend Iowa games.
Texas hired or wants to hire Sark? That athletic department always tries to one up us. What. The. Fuck.
It shouldn’t be a hard recipe to win fairly consistently at Nebraska. We just refuse to do it. 1. Have a decent to good in-game coach that doesn’t hate everyone that isn’t his players. 2. buy croots (and have decent to good staff crooters) 3. Keep them around if they’re talented 4. Feed our large whites appaling amounts of steroids 5. Preferably run an offense that offers a competitive advantage. Just imo but prob some version of Doc Thom’s option I but that’s debatable. 6. Scrap the 3-4 because that shit sucks also imo That’s about it really.
Here's my highly speculative, novice take on a perceived phenomenon. We tend to look at year end recruiting rankings, see Clemson, tOSU and Alabama in the top 5 every single year and think "see all you need to do is croot" We tend to overlook the remainder of the top 10, made up of teams that sell out to accumulate loads of talent and embarrass themselves on the field most years. I think the 21st century recruiting madness snake is eating its tail. A few programs can amass tons of talent, organize them into a cohesive system, and develop them over several years. The Auburns, FSUs and Texases of the world have become assylums run by inmates. Coaches are figureheads lacking any meaningful authority over a runaway booster culture made of POS old, rich white guys who have firm individual expectations of immediate success, and specific operational demands of how they get there. A hundred cooks in the kitchen, promising to help deliver recruiting victories, but with a million strings attached, each fancying themselves a de facto GM, resulting in a team comprised of 18 year old free agents with competing allegiances, without any actual dedication to team or coach. It takes a guy like Saban or Urban to reign that in. Texas can't get them, so they're stuck looking for the next Tom Herman who's dumb enough to blindly walk their face right into that plastic bag. I like Sarkisian and I'm glad he can see it coming. His time at USC probably helped.
It's just a series of excellent tongue in cheek posts. Check the team board and you'll get it. Fabulous posting by my namesake +1
Tuioti was his lead recruiter according to 247...that guy’s starting to make a little bit of an impact on the staff.
Any better record is operating on the theory that end of season Martinez is consistently what we get. No guarantee of that whatsoever
