As much as the COVID Sports thread annoys me with their overly sarcastic/negative reply to every post. I must say, at this point let’s be a little more realistic though. I’m sure there’s a money/refund driven reason for the comments, but come on how about we just work on having a season happen and not worry about fans coming at this point. Moos could use a little more of a realistic approach anytime he gets the mic though honestly.
Trying not to get too excited about the season. Just telling myself they will cancel it on September 4th. Also quite nice of the B1G to send us to New Jersey for the first game of the season.
Bought this https://www.bestbuy.com/site/belkin-thunderbolt-3-docking-station/6343826.p?skuId=6343826 Realize my laptop doesn’t support this USB-C plug in. Anyone know of a good adapter that can convert this to a regular USB port? All the ones on amazon mention they won’t be as fast and not sure if that will matter. Im plugging in two HDMI monitors and a keyboard and mouse via USB if that helps.
Very amateur opinion here but I would probably just get whatever you’re seeing on Amazon. The USB-C is faster so any conversion to classic USB is going to slow it down and there’s not really anyway around that if your laptop doesn’t have the USB-C port, from what I understand.
That’s what I figured. It’s not like I’m using the Ethernet port on this thing just the two HDMI for monitors and two USBs for a mouse and keyboard. I can’t imagine that speed effects it much?
Oh, but if your laptop has HDMI port(s) I would definitely recommend using that for the monitors in that case.
I only have one I need two. So I bought that dock so I can have 2 monitors + everything else run through that.
I’m out of state now but AZ started to get some mixed packs in and the regulars. Furious, Abrasive, Bender. Indeed Mexican Honey and Castle Danger Cream Ale along with Furious are the best beers in MN iyam imho iibh gfy Making a big effort to get back to MN if we can next spring. Covid has fucked our plans this year, plans to move to NoCal have evaporated, and we’re both desperate to gtfo of this shithole of a state. Might move north towards Grand Marais and stay in the cabin for a while if I can find a decent job. Have an offer but the pay is shit and bad bennies. Oh well. I love MN beer tho, underrated state for beer.
Tis only gotten better (which is a big thanks to Surly, obvi). Barrel Theory is my top brewery these days, but that's likely due to my friends mostly moving to the East Metro. Dangerous Man is still solid, BlackStack has redeemed themselves from a poor start. Pryes is great. Oliphant just across the river in Somerset is up there as well.
I worked for a couple years next to BlackStack building teardrop trailers for a company in the building there. The owners and head brewer are great folks. Pryes GM is a buddy from back when he ran Pat’s Tap on Nicolette and 35th. Another buddy of mine owns/runs La Doña in Minneapolis. Absolutely love the beer scene in the cities.
I actually like Pryes the best of TC beer In state, imo: 1. Castle Danger 2. Pryes 3. Bent Paddle 4. Surly 5. Dangerous Man Then IDK I'm kinda out of the loop on the whole scene but Indeed's not bad, Lake Monster and Tin Whisker are ok, 612 and Modist are garbage
La Doña is underrated for certain. I'm not going to taprooms really these days (though I have done a couple crowler pickups) so I pretty much sample whatever comes across the stores and haven't really found a brewer that I think is lousy, though individual beers don't always tickle my fancy of course. I think BlackStack makes my favorite IPAs, although Junkyard down Moorhead way tosses out some real slayers. But I do tend to buy the most of Indeed, Bauhaus, and Fair State due to Northeast MPLS affection. I guess 612 is the one I never buy. Their tap room is dumb, branding is dumb, and scene is dumb. And the beer suxxx. So I guess there is one turd out there. I wish this kefir I'm drinking was a cold beer.
Junkyard is the t*ts. They also sponsor the Rare Beer Picnic (canceled this year, of course), which is a 10/10 experience, even for being in Moorhead. 612 is and has always been trash, yes.
They are getting their money’s worth based on how many times I saw “TT presented by..” considering I don’t even visit HI’s website. Going to be the new PFF Ranking for Dean
Hopefully we are kicking the tires on Cade Johnson, though his family seems more pro Iowa these days.
If this isn't a Dean nugg I don't know what is Sean CallahanNebraska Legend Keep your eyes on South Dakota grad transfer wide receiver Levi Falck. I’ve heard he’s really turned heads this summer and should be a factor a wide receiver.
