lol who was responsible for that one? I still remember the JoRo classic. I believe JoRo may now officially classify as a domestic terrorist.
I think what ol jorow and hank's stories have in common is that they were both day dreamt while driving home from a very uneventful evening at the bar and the stories end when their wives ask them why they're making those kung fu mouth sound effects
Where do yall people go to get fitted for clubs in Omaha? I've been looking around and the only thing that is holding my game back... is the clubs.
You can overpay at GolfTEC which I wouldn't recommend. Most people either go to Austad's or GolfUSA. I am going to check out the new Club Champion location in West O when I get new irons in a couple months. They are a national chain but are pretty highly respected. I haven't been there yet though.
What about for lessons/video? I’ve been looking at GolfTec, but $1500 is a steep price when I don’t think it’ll help my game that much. I just started golfing last year and I’m about 5-10 over on every course so far... the short game is by far my weakest part.
Believe it or not, hudson will be able to answer that best. I know he's been getting lessons or has looked around at that fairly recently.
I also started getting into the 2nd white stickball sport last year and honestly I've just been youtubing a shit ton of golf how to videos and hitting a lot just on carpet and I'm probably at Tiger circa 2000 level if he never learned golf. I'm also frugal af, I don't wanna spend money to learn nuances of a game that has free tutorial videos online and a sport that the players hate every other swing. I'm not good and if I have friends who are ridiculously into golf for YEARS and they also say they're not good then we're just different levels of bad at it. I'm planning to just put in time at the driving ranges and at 9 hole courses and gonna get less awful that way.
Almost want my friend to buy the video package so I can watch his shit swing and then take the coaching feedback and apply it to my awful game
Also, the fact that Doc Sadler is one of the very few people in the basketball program to not have Covid is wild to me.
If I were to guess I’d say he was infected but the virus entered his system and saw some frightening things so it got the f out.
I’m just a “doctor” so one of the real ones answer this for me. Do we need to inject Doc’s blood to instantly defeat Covid or breed with him? I’m down for either and I’ve already been “autisim’d”.
I got fitted for my irons at club champion and I loved the experience. So much so that I’m gonna get a putter and possibly a wedge fitting from them this year. I might just use the gift card for the wedge fitting towards a new putter though. A couple years ago I messaged golftec about lessons and they never got back to me. But a friend of mine went the very expensive route of golftec and then spent the next year bitching about how they messed up his swing. So there a couple of different options. Spoiler when I initially started looking for lessons I went to lessons.com and answered some questions and it gave me a list of pros that might fit with me. I just tried to do it as an example so hopefully my current coach doesn’t get bent out of shape. Golf galaxy - 30 minute sessions, at-least flight screens I’m not sure if they can video you etc. (not the best option maybe cheapest) Andrew storm - coaches out at shadow and has like an online subscription services as well. (Ranked number six in the state by golf digest) The guy i currently use - pm if you want that one. Judd Cornell - players club/ creighton head coach. It says director of instruction so I’m not sure if you can get lessons with him or if it’s Scott. 1 might know better since it’s his club. (His dad is the number three coach in Nebraska) I know a buddy of mine did a playing lesson with him, but idk. I went to school with his youngest sister. Mike Fauver at miracle hills - Josh and surprisingly my mother rave about mike. I’ve thought about contacting him before but eh. Tedd Digiacomo - he works at golf galaxy don’t think he does lessons there. He gave me a putting tip and a grip tip while I was there. Putting tip was great, grip not so much. A coworker of mine has taken some lessons from him and had positive things, he can meet you at a couple different locations, have his number if you want to go that route. I know a couple of the guys I play with at stone creek have said nice things about the instruction there, but felt their pricing was too high for what they were offering. James seickman out at shadow is one of the top coaches in the country but like 250 an hour( which is insanely cheap if you look at the list). Also not sure if you’d need to be a member at shadow or not. Kyle Bullerman at Indian creek is someone I’ve heard good things but hes 80 for 45 mins. Plus I really like their practice area. And really a lot of courses have instruction. Just about finding a price and time your comfortable with first then finding a coach who doesn’t screw you up too much. A lot of coaches are more teach their swing then fix your swing.
On the subject of golf lessons. Realistically, how many do you think are necessary before you notice an actual difference? My biggest issue is that I have a slice due to not being able to shake certain habits after playing baseball half of my life.
Hahaha he said Martinez looked like a player of the year type player against Rutgers minus a few mistakes aka the 3-4 turnovers he had...ok Scott
IMO the majority of people involved with the football program care about a bunch of other little things that aren’t winning. Been like that for 15-20 years now.
The only positive I’ve seen so far is the fact he said he’s going to give Lubick more play calling duties so he can focus on other aspects of the team.
Alabama has like 4 former HCs as analysts, while we’re retaining a staff that’s mostly never coached in Power 5 and has one winning season between UCF and Nebraska.
For fixing a slice? 1 lesson with a decent instructor will fix that. Now whether that stays fixed is up to you. Multiple (5 or more) lessons would help you understand how to permanently correct yourself when bad habits creep back.
That’s kind of what I meant. I know some of the things I need to change to improve my swing but typically it’s so uncomfortable/not natural I don’t really want to work on it in the middle of a round. Also, I usually don’t play a bunch of golf year to year, but this past year there’s been a couple guys from work that like to go so I went more than normal. I’d love to be able to have more control over my shot.
Stivrins serving, therefore playing back row some is new. Used to be exclusively a middle blocker specialist type before.
These Indiana student announcers would make excellent common day Husk football fans. They're all about the moral victories even though their team is getting shut out. Also really pushing the "these freshman for the Hoosiers really look great!" angle.
Id recommend finding a teacher worth a shit and, especially since you are new to the game, developing good habits first and worrying about clubs and fitting second (although that’s a great approach). I’m in the middle of a refining/changing a swing I had since the age of 11 at 35. I have zero fucking idea how Tiger has done this at least 4 times (just on tour). Good luck, it’s the best and worst thing ever. When you want to quit, you will finish -3 in a 4 hole stretch. When you think you figured it out, you will duck hook 75% of your drives and struggle to make par (or bogey and sometimes double). The one consistent is beer. Beer is always there for you on a golf course (just don’t be a dick to the cart girls and tip well, of course).
