Satt needs to GTFO. That final drive was the most fugazi thing we’ve seen. The players are already scared of the moment, we don’t need the play calling to double down on it.
He’s like a play calling robot that has plays that could in theory work but he can’t call the same plays that work over and over and he doesn’t understand flow or weakness.
truly atrocious and I’m usually the first to play devils’ advocate with offensive playcalling we needed chunk plays and dude is calling designed screens and flares when our perimeter blocking is horrific and we don’t have a single player who can make a man miss. Just stupid shit
Glad Dylan is ok though. Good stuff. Glad that was as close as it was. Hopefully it’ll help going into the home stretch. Indiana looking like a goddamn juggernaut
We are not going to be able to get away with this level of playcalling ineptitude next season. Defense is going to take a step back. Have to get to a point of complementary football and take advantage when they give you opportunities. Could really threaten to upend the momentum Rhule has built in a critical year 3.
His obsession with screen passes reminds me of me wanting to force myself to call RPO plays because it feels like I’m on the verge of breaking one (I’m not)
One positive is, we only faced a 3rd and 18 on that final drive. That’s an improvement from the 3rd and 42 we saw in OT vs Illinois
Idk if he does it intentionally but Rhule talks about freshmen almost exclusively in his call outs for improvement and growth and it reminds me that he’s playing the long game still. Frustrating losses but I have to trust him. Would like offensive staff shake ups at this point and he does seem real loyal to his guys so I hope he’s as pragmatic there as he is on other things
Watching us lose a close game while knowing the whole time we had a 0% chance of actually winning is what really sucked. Part of me wishes we would have just got our asses kicked.
