Can’t play defense back half of the season Fred can’t figure out how to defend teams like Iowa who can only shoot outside good season. Waste of two great Huskers
Brice officially joining the likes of Petteway and James Palmer as some legends who deserved better. At least Brice and TP5 got a trip to the dance I guess. Just wish any of those dudes were associated with a tourney win because Im sure our fans will quickly forget about them. Brice seems to be a lot more loved than the other two which is cool for him. Anyone who hates on TP5 is an instant enemy of mine though.
Berke commits a foul then raises his hand always cracks me up. That’s what you do when you don’t want them to call it on a guy in foul trouble not when you’re the only guy within 15 feet of the ball trying to play D
Really liked the overall turnaround we saw effort wise on defense when we hired Loenser a few years ago, but we have to adjust the defensive plan next year.
We would yes because we’d be above .500 but I think they said we’re in that new tournament for P5 teams out in Vegas. Or assumed we’d be.
We should have known this was how the season was going to go when preseason we were all joking about the amount of white dudes transferring in.
The curse has never been more evident than us getting a white dude from Wisconsin and then he instantly can’t make a shot or take a charge.
Just so damn disappointing. Thought we were at least gonna get to watch them get blown out in the first round of the NCAA tournament
1-6 to finish the season with the one win being a 20 point comeback at NW. Just absolutely sickening choke job down the stretch.
If I could feel emotions about Nebraska men’s athletics anymore, I’d be pretty sad at how these last 5 games ended
That era of having wins in the dance? Sounds AWFUL imo Spoiler he’s a massive tool and I hate him and those crew cut Aryans he recruits that light us up regularly
They still drive me nuts which I guess is good because I don’t really care about much else in life but at this point I at least can flip the switch to stop caring quick and avoid total letdowns.
My brother in corn... you had anything left in the tank after the last decade of husking in all mens sports?
It’s actually fairly impressive that with the total lack of success from Football and Basketball they still manage to do enough to reel me back in. Even if that’s just an extra 5 minutes before I go back to not caring. I’ve said it in here 100 times but preseason I was just hoping for an NITish level season and that’s basically what we got. But I also didn’t account for the fact that we’d start 12-2, or be able to withstand a horrible 6 game stretch to start conference play. To need like 3 wins in the final 7-8 games, with more at home than on the road and more against mid/bottom teams it actually seemed reasonable which Husk athletics seems to defy consistently. Finishing 1-6 and not even look like an NIT team for the most part was a legit disappointment. Losing close games to Maryland and Michigan, even at home is whatever. But to get run out of the gym against Penn State, then play SO bad in the first half against NW and Minnesota is just a joke. Then to lose in multiple ways is too on brand for the Husks. - PSU was just a debacle - Maryland has more talent, ok I get it. - Michigan is a better team but we hold them to 49 and lose while fumbling multiple chances to win it - Minnesota we trail by 19 with 15:00 left, come all the way back, force a 10 second violation and get the ball back to take the lead. Just to allow some bench player to snipe his 5th three at the buzzer at home. - Ohio State, lose in 2OT. Have a 90%+ FT shooter score 43 but miss one that would have won it. Multiple horrible calls, leading by 5 with 2min left in OT1. - Iowa we lay an egg on senior day with a trip to the conference tourney on the line and don’t even give ourselves a chance to keep the glimmer of hope alive.
Now you know why the thread chalks up Ls after falling behind 5-0 in the first 3:00 of the game. At least for me, that’s my way of emotionally disconnecting until further notice haha
We probably would have gotten smoked game one of the B10 tourney, but for whatever reason I think not making the tournament stings pretty bad for me. Even if it’s one more game it just feels like such an abrupt end. I go back to Miles’ finally season where we finished 16-15 in the regular season and I think finished 3-10 in the final 13. But we beat Iowa in a crazy regular season finale where like half the team was hurt so it was JPJ, Roby, and Glynn Watson playing with Johnny Trueblood and Tanner Borchardt. We then had 2 upsets in the B10 tourney, and almost won the 3rd game. Then tack on an NIT win at home. Yes that season was a debacle given preseason expectation (tourney win) but there was still some fun at the end to feel like some of those guys were sent out on a high-ish note.
If it wasn’t for that scuffle I would have had no idea that was a “tradition”. Weirdly before I realized what happened I saw a post of an MSU guy doing it a few years ago which made it seem like it was something cool he did not a 20 year tradition. The tradition itself is kind of cool I guess but to get fired up and act like everyone was aware of it like it’s hitting the “Play Like A Champion” sign or something was crazy.
Up until that I never really noticed MSU posters in the regular threads I visit except one dude who seems to not have the ability to just read a thread without posting a ton of weird replies lol
