Remember we’re paying some geriatric Harry Potter looking fuck $400K this year to coach up that decision making
Adrian should have been sacked 8-20 times this game and got away. He made some great throws. He continues to show he hasn’t been coached up in simple things. His ability is through the roof, his awareness of simple shit is a micro to the teams macro issues.
Imagine trying to duck that game. Then having to go face that team in the locker room after losing that way.
I’m increasingly convinced Scott needs to resign just for his mental health. Dude has unbelievable levels of melancholy just swirling around him every time he’s interviewed
It's wild reading the Huskers subreddit. People beating their chests about not getting blown out and pretending not to see the very obvious pattern of blowing winnable games due to our own stupidity
I’m seeing it on Twitter as well. banging the drum over, ‘if we just didn’t do the little things wrong’ is such a horrible fucking way to look at it. The little things are how you got to fucking win when you’re in a state with 2 million people. If you can’t do those things correctly you have no chance. This isn’t 80-90’s Miami where you are so fucking talented you can overcome those issues. The little things are a direct result of the leadership (and lack of it) for the last 20 years.
Obviously this went 100x better than I expected, but if we come out and lose to Michigan State or NW it doesn’t matter. That’s the thing most people (not on here) seem to miss. Sure we lost, but a lot of it was due to just terrible mistakes we’ve made forever. It’s not like we got beat by 40+ or just lost a very well played game. The success of the season will be decided the rest of the season, but I’ve felt that way forever considering I expected a blowout.
It’s infuriating whether OU just sucks or they played poorly. A good team maybe even decent team wins that game. Chins had a great game plan. Dave Rimington killed 2 drives. Sure I’m glad we didn’t get blown out. But we lost in the same way we always do in close games under Frost. Win some and maybe I’ll have a hint of belief. I fully expect to be blown out next week.
Plus we've been doing the little things wrong for the entirety of Scott's tenure. It appears to be something he is not equipped to fix
The people saying “durr this was a good loss” need to fuck off. Good teams win games like this. Bad teams give it away when the other team is actively trying to hand you the game.
He’s probably the only one that belongs. If we had 4 other dudes beside him, his mean streak would be perfectly fine. Instead, we don’t have the talent to make up for the smallest mistakes
I feel like there's a parallel, bizarro tmb of all our dads where they think Farts is awesome and they post about constipation. But everything else is p much the same what with the busch light, Ratt and balloon knots
We got whipped by an Illinois team that has been beat by San Antonio and Maryland and boat raced by Virginia. Our head coach publicly admitted afterwards we were unprepared and couldn’t adjust against that team’s scheme. That says a lot more about this team than our defense and Adrian playing out of their minds one afternoon and hanging around an overrated Oklahoma team does.
Anymore, if you can build a top 10 team at a school that isn’t a name brand, I’m not sure someone like Fickell should screw up a good thing to go suffer at a historic blue blood with toxic boosters running the thing into the ground like Texas, USC, FSU, Nebraska etc
He develops relationships with all the high school coaches. He has an incredible eye for underrated talent. His teams play great defense.
I’m not trying to be reasonable. I’m saying everybody that comes here finds a way to fucking suck ass. Urban Meyer would probably go 4-8
r/cfb has the crazy ability to be the worst subreddit and the worst twitter handle. Those mods/twitter runners are complete dipshits lol
We looked like shit and shouldn't even have been in the game, OU almost out Nebraska'd Nebraska and gave them opportunities to win but Nebraska just Nebraskas like no one else. Enjoy this loss cause the rest of the in conference schedule most likely won't give us stupid ass opportunities to even be in the game. We suck and we lost but I mean... Spoiler
That was such a strange game today. We made so many mistakes and still should have won. Our defense is good and if AM2 plays well then we can compete. Mistakes and special teams come down to coaching. Sucks that it cost us what could have been an enormous win. That said, we are going to get curb stomped next week.
