Fleck heading up the biggest year in #Minnesota Golden Gophers recent history and gonna go 0-fer on the state's top 5 prospects? What about this "best class in the division" he keeps spouting off about each May?
If true...that is one hell of an impressive pull by the staff. If we're being honest, Minnesota has everything other than facilities going for it against us right now. If this staff can win those types of recruiting battles....there's hope.
Kaden Johnson and Yahya Black (who I don't think is one of the 5 you are referencing) are the only ones I really feel like are misses, and to a lesser extent Aaron Witt. Suggs was never going to play college football in the first place (if you want to point at a Minnesota coach to poke fun at, it would be Pitino for Suggs), and Lockett doesn't have a committable offer at this point. Bouman was never offered, though I doubt he chooses Minnesota even if he did. Already losing the top two in-state recruits in 2021 is a bigger concern to me. There isn't much consensus on the rankings of players in the state beyond Kaden and Suggs, anyways. Think you could put the players ranked 3rd through 10th in just about any order and it would be reasonable - I think all of those guys are in the top 5 in some ranking, whether it be 247, 247 Composite, or Rivals. Since he isn't going to Minnesota, I'd prefer to see Kaden choose Nebraska - would rather see him end up there than at Wisconsin.
Minnesota has better facilities right now (obviously we have a better long-term pitch, but that only covers 2-3 of 4-5 years for these guys)
He's going to Iowa, and I fully expect him to be one of those typical DL that they redshirt and essentially does nothing the first couple of years, but then emerges out of nowhere and becomes a super disruptive player for them.
I don't like that Minnehaha has suddenly gone from irrelevant to having multiple D-1 players in football and basketball. The school is at most 2 miles down the river from campus and most kids like to get further away.
I’m assuming these LB and WR mits could just come in and probably play with how atrocious those 2 groups are rn
Has some work to do, not signing this week, but if we can get that dullard Washington qualified I’m not too worried about Betts.
Awesome to be able to pull a kid like that out of FL. Now let's learn to develop them. I think he'll make it
I’m irrationally upset that he posted a screen shot with his volume like that. I don’t think we should accept his commitment.
By a mile. Fun fact. We will likely finish with double digits four star players for two years in a row. That has never been done since rankings were a thing. Even Callahan couldn't pull that off.
I know we've said this many times before but......Imagine how well these guys could recruit if we actually won 8+ games in a season.
The counterargument would be that they didn't rate this many kids with 4*s before, but that's irrelevant. There's a shit ton of r250 kids in this class
