I hope he spends a long painful time there. Fuck him and every asshole that pushes toxic masculinity.
How popular is Tate really? As in, if I polled a bunch of high school and college boys, would Tate be someone many of them followed? What demographic does he dominate?
with the news today search is broken for easily googling but there'll be a youtube video out there that shows it all somewhere
I joined this board as a lurker because it used to have a decent public FSU thread until that blowhard ruined it.
I’ll look for the Reddit thread but apparently he stated he liked Romania because it was easier to human traffic and rape there.
so, to clarify here, it'd probably be better to discuss his presence rather than his popularity. if you polled that cross-section of people, his presence is probably 90+%, his popularity is considerably lower although definitely a non-zero number. Tate operates a scam (Hustlers University) to make money so ultimately while the high schoolers popularizing him is neat, he is really going after young adults with disposable income. I also think the high schoolers are the ones more apt to have being a Tate fan be a phase of their lives, something most will grow out of (not downplaying the percentage that won't) while the young adults are more likely to turn his ways into a lifestyle due to more immediate access to his premium content and thus are more dangerous to the population. purely speculation but I think if you polled 100 men aged 16-25, probably 90-95 are aware of him. two-thirds of that group probably dislike or hate him, and you can split the last third between people who are neutral or slightly interested in his thoughts on women but far from a Tate stan and then the group who've fully bought in and start patterning their life after him. as a side note I feel like I'm erring on Tate's side with these numbers, a lot of this feels like a vocal minority thing given how his social media presence works but it's difficult to tell completely. he's a problem and the world is unquestionably better off without him than with him but he's also not going to ruin a generation of boys and young men in this country either.
Most kids have probably heard about him because he was blasted out on Tik Tok 14 billion times over the last several months, but he clearly lacks the follower/subscriber base to support that kind of reach. Virtually no one but hardcore kickboxing, Big Brother, and manosphere people had ever heard of him. This arrest and his prior comments make a lot of sense—he’s a straight up criminal sex trafficker who tried to leverage his money to boost his image while his world crumbled during the investigation.
worth mentioning that prior to Elon buying Twitter, he'd been recently de-platformed across all of social media, he had a much bigger fanbase on social media from that perspective until someone finally turned over the rock on him and shined a light on his transgressions. he's still de-platformed everywhere else but, of course, he's back on Twitter. if you're not "online" as it were, it's easy to miss that he really blew up about a fair bit earlier than you perceive him as having blown up. de-platforming works like a charm, though, and it's easy to see why you think he's not as big as he is/was. like I said, it's more accurate to discuss maybe his fame/infamy rather than his popularity just because I don't want to give the perception that he's everywhere for men in that age range but it wouldn't be crazy for him to be brought up in conversation and for people to at least learn of him in that way. again, his popularity is considerably lower than his overall presence on social media at a given time but he says such outlandish shit it's easy for him to be talked about frequently and thus stay on people's minds more often.
He had a decent following but it clearly wasn’t supporting this level of notoriety. The attention is product of the combo of the public salience of the issue and the well-reported guerrilla marketing campaign he deployed. A couple hundred K insta and Twitter followers from 5 yrs ago aren’t buying you Bugattis, neither is a manosphere pay site, and there’s now greater proof that his criminal activity was the engine behind his “success.”
He legit had a pyramid scheme on a discord or something. Like pay $10 and you get a percentage of the fee of everyone you recruit so there was a time where tweet replies and YouTube comments and the like were flooded with spam links to get people to sign up for his discord. I’m murky on the details someone can probably fill me in. Also was annoying when “free speech” comics put him on their podcasts… lookin at you YMH and Tim Dillon
“Let the first wealthy British American from totally legit means, who hasn’t voluntarily travelled to Romania while under investigation for human trafficking, cast the first stone.”
I bet if you polled my HS sons friends 100% know of him or have watched him. They mentioned him a while back so I did some looking because they all seemed to talk about him. We had a long talk about what a piece of shit he is and how the things he promotes and stands for are not only wrong but horrible.
One of my friends is a high school teacher and apparently Andrew Tate had some video saying don't respect teachers ever because they are losers that don't own Bugattis and anytime the teachers question the students they should ask the teachers where their bugattis were so that's really cool
I wonder how far that rabbit hole goes in terms of his subscribers and his university or however he phrased it and who is held responsible.
Did said teacher hit those kids in the face with a brick? That’s the only play as far as I’m concerned. If I were that teacher I’d walk in Monday like the cockiest human alive.
I don't think his hustlers university thing was remotely we successful as he pretended Like others said he talked about working with the Romanian Mafia and his cam girl factory and casinos he owned were very obviously mobbed up.
