Reminded me of the great succession episodes when they’d get all the characters together in a new location. Scene with Harper and Otto was so good, sending Petra off to look at the numbers while they talked
Feels like if you’re gonna roll with an episode like that you better nail it. It was pretty darn good but I did find myself wondering if it was worth giving up a full week for.
I feel like they did not nail that all and was kind of bad at times it's like they threw every single idea in to why he's bad and didn't say no to anything
Yeah felt like a mad libs homage to uncut gems that had zero interest in any (albeit small) character development they’d done with rishi in the past. Hopefully that’s just a standalone episode that doesn’t really affect the main storyline moving forward
Disagree with the takes so far. I loved it. They made it clear how someone so vile to his coworkers can retain a job at a place like Pierpoint. All that matters is making money showed how Rishi has that sort of risk tolerance
Yea I took the episode as an example of how living on the edge has high highs and low lows and how it's a crucial skill in that line of work.
my other issue with it is how it reframed every other character to try to be the normal ones eric seemed like a completely different character in this ep, while I get that he is less unhinged he is still unhinged
That episode was incredible. I still generally hate drug trip episodes but other than that it was great.
I agree but it was like 5min so I’ll allow it. Plus Robert finding some peace makes me happy. The Yaz stuff got dark but not the way I expected it.
the reveal or that she killed her dad? Seemed pretty obvious that what’s the flashbacks were hinting at. Her pushed her too far and she taunted her saying she would just come crawling back and then she killed him at sea.
Yasmin subplot: I use emotionally unavailable men to fill the hole left by my father Harper subplot: I’m recklessly ambitious because of my humble upbringing Robert subplot:
well that ep is gonna be up there great stuff Spoiler the turning on the head of our expectations of why she was crying juxtaposed to the harper relationship good shit
Super intense. I’m not sure i full understand why Harper can be so venomous towards yas though. It feels like Yas got full fucked over in all this
Because that's Harper's defense mechanism. She's also a bit of sociopath and narcissist. Never her fault, always a justification for her actions. Yas did get fully fucked.
Yeah, i guess I just have no idea Harper as a character comes back from this. How in the world does anyone root for her
I think that's the point of the show. No one is worth rooting for. And those who are, get corrupted by the system and eventually wont be
Yas did get fucked but given where pierpoint is headed, it’s likely a blessing. I hope she and Rob are able to get out clean, which means something really fucked up is going to happen to one of them :(
Also, is this the horniest show on tv? Did we really need to see Eric nut on a bathroom wall to get the point? Some of that stuff is a little bizarre Overall still one of the best shows on tv right now. This season has been pretty great.
I think that fake whistleblower that was working for the Gentry plus auyuasca gave him he clarity to be freed from his moral boundaries. Realized it’s either get on the train or get run over by it. Which is why he’s so care free in his short appearance in the last ep. Also who I was mostly referring to wrt those who are worth rooting for will get corrupted
you could see him processing information and then BAM I think what he said to Adler before the elevator is the same thing Adler told him when he pushed Eric to take a leave
Yeah he definitely said “more time for your family” when moving Eric up out of his sales role in season 2.
I don’t know what the time frame is of the show, but Harper gets caught insider trading like once a week.
Rob seemingly being able to finally emotionally move on from Yas was also very nice to see Yas seemed a little bummed she couldn't control him any longer
Feel like they weren’t sure if that was going to be the series finale or not, but still a really great season
