Yeah. Nice hairy legs Bigfoot Just get any mountain shape tattooed and tell people it's Ranier. People up there really know it by sight?
Rainier is pretty recognizable because it doesn't have a pronounced peak, has like a big dip at the top from when it blew eons ago -- def know it by sight
He's not putting out a lot of content right now, not sure if covid is slowing him down or not doing as much stuff anymore. http://www.livefreetattoo.com/2016/04/23/rex-holloway/ https://www.instagram.com/the_lonesome_wolf/?hl=en
I hate how popular they’ve gotten. It’s so hard to get an apportionment with a good artist now, everybody is booked like a year out. I liked it better when they were kind of taboo /oldmanscreamsatcloud
I'm getting my sugar skull in Mexico, and probably going to finish my partial leg sleeve in Medellin in January. Want to get a slight cover-up on my right shoulder (buddhist tattoo from Thailand in 2014 -- kind of cultural appropriation and I am in no way buddhist), but not sure what I want to do. May do a partial half sleeve, maybe just a big piece on my right shoulder. That will prolly be the last one I get, at least for a while.
I got a small wrist tattoo in India in 2017 and pretty sure the guy cut hair and changed oil in the same location. That was smart.
I’m not going to lie but I used to enjoy the physical pain of getting them. I’ve always been able to deal with physical pain more than emotional pain. So tattoos and fights helped me deal with mental issues I was dealing with. Over time that’s changed I know now better how to deal with my shit. Luckily I’m about done with everything I want to get. My hand tattoos are both dia de los muertos sugar skulls.
I originally didn’t read the whole post but Where Eagles Dare ’s swastika joke made me read the whole thing. Not that it matter but why (unless you’re Latino) is the buddhist tattoo “cultural appropriation” to you but the sugar skull isn’t? For the record I want to be clear and state that I don’t think either are I’m just wondering why you do. I have Japanese tattoos and some Arabic writing on me. I don’t think it’s wrong for me to have either. I actually went with my buddy who is Muslim to make sure the writing was done correctly and it said what I wanted it to say. He wasn’t offended by me getting because he knew what was in my heart and why I was getting it. This was post 9/11 FWIW. All I mean is if you are doing it to appreciate and honor the culture respectfully you shouldn’t see it as cultural appropriation. Just my two cents.
Fair question. The buddhist tattoo was definitely not to honor the culture and more because I thought it "looked cool." The tattoo on my wrist in an Om (hindu, also buddhist) which represents the yoga aspect of my life. I got my Om tattoo after completing a portion of my yoga teacher training in India and yoga is a large part of my life. In that same vein, Mexico is probably my favorite country in the world, I've been here numerous times, and am exploring living here part time. So, I feel if I embrace and truly respect that certain culture's tattoo, it is more respectful than getting it because of the way it looks -- if I embody some of that culture's principles there's justification for the tattoo, IMO. Further, the more I've studied yoga I've learned I will never be a practicing buddhist -- not my preferred yogic school of thought. And my tattoo is a 5 line buddhist prayer that I just don't embody. So, it's not that I don't respect or honor buddhism and those that follow that school of thought, it's more that doesn't embody who I am and I don't implement the teachings of that prayer into my life (as much as I should, at least). With Mexico, I much prefer this way of life and just flat out love the culture and everything that comes with it.
fair enough and you’ve obviously put a great deal of thought into it. I want to be clear that I wasn’t trying to put you on the spot just genuinely curious. At the end of the day it’s your body and you have be comfortable with what’s on it.
I would assume a lot of touch up would be necessary for the black stained glass framing since there isn’t a lot of negative space coloring. Over time, that will all kind of blur together. I think the stained glass part will look fine.
I assume good depending on how well he takes care of his skin and how good the artist was. I have 20 year old tattoos that still look really good. That’s partly because I take of it but also has a great artist who knew what he was doing.
I need a few of my 50+ tattoos touched up but they hold up really well as long as you take care of them
Didn’t know if it was more of a concern with the bright colors and bold black. Thought it might all end up gray and blue eventually
Nah inks are great now. IMO those that change like that are a result of cheap ink, low quality artist and not taking care of the work/skin. Remember the sun is your skin’s enemy. Wear sunscreen.
The wrist below your palm is brutal. So is the bend between your forearm and biceps. Sternum is ass too. So is around the armpit. Elbow wasn’t too bad for me
If they are good, they will usually have a wait. So just plan ahead. I think I'm going to do a walk in this weekend and get some simple script on my arm somewhere
Yeah if you want to get something from a really good artist you’ll probably have to wait a month or two
no idea where you’re located but I’ve seen this one on ig before and they have amazing reviews and look to do really good work https://eliteinktattoos.com/
Tattoos are forever and not for everyone. If you don’t have one think about why you want to get one now. Is it a midlife (holy shit I’m 40) crisis type thing? Make sure it’s something you really want and not jus a rash decision. I’ve always told my kids think about what you want wait six months and then if you still want it get it. Obviously, you’re an adult and that doesn’t apply to you but what I am saying if what you want right now isn’t what you want in a few months then it’s better not to get one.
Don’t listen to grandpa Daniel Ocean i get tattoos when I’m bored or i at least used to before Covid jk yeah it’s permanent but I’ve seen TC itt for a long time so i think he prob actually wants one
Pop-Pop lol it’s funny cause it’s true. I love tattoos l am getting my calves done soon. But, my point is just make sure you really want to get one.
TC fucktx i just don’t want to come off as the guy with the neck and hand tattoos (who obviously has questionable judgment skills lol) trying to talk everyone in to tattoos. I love tattoos and want to help everyone get the best work and have the best experience when getting one. It makes the culture better. My first tattoos were done in backyards and swap meets I wish people would have talked me out of them. They all have been covered up or fixed by better artist.
Getting my 3rd tattoo tomorrow. It’s 10 years to the date that my mother passed away (tomorrow) so I’m having the artist trace her handwriting from a letter I have. Simple all it is, is “love, mom” and her birthdate underneath. Just means something to me especially on a tough day.
Kinda like CatDog or DickButt I guess. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ccd0UGMFUtB/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Besides the questionable choice, wtf is up with the placement. Seems pretty obvious how that should be set up.
