a.tramp pat dry after you shower . Also it’s gonna get hella flaky don’t freak out. It’s like a big scrape and will heal as such,
Oh if you've got the plastic on that's what you need to keep doing imo. The wet healing or whatever speeds up the process. Mine got itchy after I took the plastic off and I used lotion
I haven’t gotten one in a while, sounds like the aftercare has changed. After mine they told me to just leave the plastic wrap on til the end of the day. Then just to keep it clean, take it easy in the shower and don’t keep the stream directly on it, pat dry and keep it moisturized. And not to get into any kind of body of water for 6 weeks. Tying this back into the last topic re: pain, I feel like on bigger pieces with lots of shading the first day after the tattoo hurts worse than the tattooing.
No if the patch is on don’t do anything. If you take the patch off, wash with antibacterial soap, pat dry with a paper towel, and apply fragrance free lotion
4 days in and could not take the itchiness any longer. Pealed the fake skin off. Washed with mild soap and warm water. Patted dry with towel. Put very very thin layer of aquaphor on. Itchiness gone.
My experience has been, keep the plastic wrap on for a day then wash it with in unscented dial antibacterial soap, pat it dry softly and then rub aquaphor on it always works for me but others might have better ideas
nice, I’m not sure if I’m going to do knuckles yet or not. My sleeves cut off right where a long sleeve would cover them up so I really have no idea what I’m even going to do yet on my hands. Just winging it like I have most of my tattoos for now
I keep the plastic on for about 12 hours or overnight, but only do aquaphor for the first two days before unscented moisturizer/cocoa butter because aquaphor makes me break out cuz it clogs your pores.
It’s supposed to me and my wife lol Be all my sins remembered. It’s from Hamlet. Basically when I die remember the man I was and not the man you pretend me to be. So if you pray for me pray that my imperfections be forgiven. Another Hamlet reference but with Death from the Endless holding the skull. It’s my wife’s eye. My tattoo guy used a picture of her eye for reference Life and death. Skull and roses.
I’ve always been a big reader and a huge nerd. Growing up SE Hinton was my favorite author and the poem resonates with me. I obviously had to get it tattooed on me. I also have “better to reign” (paradise lost) and “what dreams may come” (hamlet) tattooed on me. Literary tattoos (especially from classics) throw people off.
SE Hinton was my fav author as a kid. I read and reread all her stuff over and over again. The Frost poem is the only poem I know word for word.
I'm exhausted from surfing and just going down Reddit rabbit holes and shitposting. Thought this was really cool:
I try to keep the plastic on as long as I can stand it which varies depending on my will power. I tell myself the wet healing helps recovery and the ultimate look of the tattoo... but damn it can be uncomfortable
Just got my second one this past Friday. Inspired by my favorite band and part of the cover of their first album which has my favorite instrumental song of all time on it
Want to get this one next on my lower left forearm right under where I got my last one see above. Can’t decide if I wanna do all black ink or color. Haven’t had a color tattoo before. Thoughts?
if incorporated correctly a good artist can make the transition seamless and have it look good. Not sure what that is and if the colors are important to the design. So really personal preference I assume.
That seems like kind of a small area for that whole tattoo if I’m looking at it correctly — it might mesh better (if you do it in color) if you do it at an angle sort of and have the hair kind of wrap up and to the right on your existing tattoo
Starting to get that nervous excited feeling right before you get some work done. I always get “scared” that I’m not going to be able to take the pain. Now every tattoo might me my last one. This one probably is unless I get the bottom of my knuckles done. It’s my first lower body tattoo. It will take up my whole calf from ankle to knee on both legs. Shits gonna be lit lol
