Instapot... What's cookin

I’m popping my green chicken chili cherry tonight. Are drumsticks necessary? I’d rather just go with nothing but thighs. Arkadin

 

I usually just use thighs unless I randomly have drumsticks

 

Is it going to be too soupy to make fajitas out of?

 

You might have to strain the chicken a bit

I usually put it over rice or on a tortilla with rice.

 

Did the green chicken "chili" this week and while I would debate calling it a chili it was addictive as hell. Tomatillos are just great in general anyway.

 

it is definitely a little on the soupy side, probably a lot of the water comes from the chicken. we have it on burritos, with rice, and it's amazing.

 

I've had leftovers of it over both rice and spaghetti. Always experimenting.

Made this the other night after work and thought it was very good for what it is. Just as good as if it had been cooked in a slow cooker all day, and wasn't overly "soupy" like a number of things in the Instant Pot.

Well this was real good. Added a bunch more cheese, spices, cilantro, guacamole, and sour cream.

I did this tonight but used cauliflower instead of potatoes. Added extra spices. Parmesan. Good stuff.

 

Wife used her Insta pot for about the 4th time since Christmas, to make white rice

WAY overcooked it

 

Rice cooks in a pot on the stove in literally 15 minutes, idk why you'd use the instapot, doesn't save any time really by the time it heats up and releases pressure

 

Fiance picked up a few peppers to plant in the garden this year. Now all we need are some chicken's to slaughter and we can make the chili verde with our own supply.

The taste was there. My presentation was abysmal.

 

For me, it's control and lack of variance. I can duplicate the conditions that make perfect rice every time.

PS I suck hard at making rice on stovetop. Sticky gelatinous mess every time.

Fiance made chicken chili verde again. Used boneless/skinless chicken thigh, and not as much oil... also added a fresh ghost pepper from the garden and ohhhhh boy.

Only used one, and removed the seeds, but it's still pretty damn hot.

I like spicy, and it was a good amount of spice. Idk what else we'll use all these peppers in, lol.
