On a side note, my wife who has a Masters Degree in Education had no clue what 2/3 of these pictures were.
My wife has the same, and while I haven't asked her I'd be surprised if she knew more than 1/3 of them as well.
Supposidly the iceberg that sunk it. "This iceberg was photographed by the chief steward of the liner Prinze Adelbert on the morning of April 15, 1912, just a few miles south of where the Titanic went down. The steward hadn't yet heard about the Titanic. What caught his attention was the smear of red paint along the base of the berg, indication that it had collided with a ship sometime in the previous twelve hours. "
A little of history on this, the guy shooting is a South Vietnamese General and head of the national police force, Nguy?n Ng?c Loan. The guy he was executing was the leader of a VC assassination team that entered Saigon during Tet, and killed many members of the Police force, including family members of one of Loan's junior officers. It was a pivotal photo in that it became a powerful image for the many that were turning against the war.
