He’s top-15 in the league (and leading all rookie quarterbacks) in every main pass stat category. And leading his team to the playoffs. Seems like not even every NFL QB can be Mac.

i know when I was watching Cam Newton throw one hoppers to New England WR last year I thought “Another stroke of genius from the Hoodie!”

 

It really makes you think how good New England could be if they weren’t being held back by a QB that they can’t trust to do anything other than hand the ball off.

 

Considering they’re currently atop the AFC, my guess is not much better.

 

They could be like, 1st++ I guess.

so 12 completions for 92 yards in the first. i guess that’s good for some people (nothing is his fault tho)

I don't think he looked great but I don't think he was awful for a rookie in his first playoff game. He's not the reason they got blown out.

hey it was cold okay, no QB could have played well in that weather. especially not going 21/25 with 5 touchdowns

 

6.1 yards per attempt puts him equal to what Zach Wilson did this year

 

lol at comparing him to Allen, and MVP candidate. He's a rookie. Idk why people just gloss over that. Allen was absolutely butt cheeks as a rookie too. Context matters and overall he looked OK for a rookie vs a really good defense. Not great, but that should be expected. All things considered, Mac had a solid rookie season.

 

He was down like 40 points and was still scared to throw it past the first down marker

I have no cause to root against Mac but was really smh at the hyperbolic positive takes on him throughout the season.

And yea, Mac wasn't great this year when compared to veteran QB's. But when grading on a curve and taking him being a rookie into account, he was pretty damn good. I don't think he has the tools to be a truly elite QB but he has a good rookie season to build on.

 

Justin Fields would of won NE the super bowl this year. Prove me wrong.
