Would love to see Alabama fans’ thoughts on a hit like that if he does it against Wild Bill next year.
He was a scumbag piece of shit at Alabama, surprisingly he didn't move to New England and become a good person.
Mac certainly seems unlikely to be "the guy" for anybody moving forward, but this is a weird take. He wasn't drafted 1st or above other successful QBs. He was the 5th QB off the board. If they had moved up and passed on Fields and others this would make more sense. People just got carried away with labeling him a success after last night year
The entire media ran with "belichick has done it again" virtually all year last year. This was not purely a Bama homerism phenomenon.
https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-report...calls-low-hit-part-of-the-game-212236884.html On Monday, the Boston Globe reported that the NFL is investigating the play for a potential fine that would be revealed on Tuesday. Jones, meanwhile, addressed the play and the criticism with Boston sports radio WEEI. He defended his dive as a "split-second decision." "I went down in front of him to kind of get in the way to stop him from slowing down Tyquan, who obviously could make the tackle there" Jones said. "So just kind of went down in front of him, trying to stop a fast guy from getting to another fast guy. It's a split-second decision, and there's a lot that goes into it." He then likened the play to hits he takes in the pocket as a quarterback. "There's no hard feelings and definitely no intention to hurt anybody on that play. Nor do I believe that when I'm playing quarterback that's what [the defense is trying to do]. I get hit a lot, too. We're all out there playing hard. It's just part of the game."
seems pretty common place for the biggest shit talkers being unable to take anything close to it back.
I was at camp yesterday and Zappe was looking really good. Unfortunately for him, Mac was looking like potentially the best QB in the league heading into the season.
